Really thinking about buying a new truck and want to know what you think my trucks worth.

210,945 miles
new rad
new timing belt 7,000 miles ago oem with water pump
new oem valve cover gskts 3,000 miles ago
deck plate mod
retro fitted 99+ headlights
01-02 tail lights
10% tint on all windows
20" light bar
elec locker
new oem lower bj
LR upper control arms
new cv axles
99+ steering rack guide conv
New 265/75/16 toyo m/t maybe 3,000 miles
ac comp was replaced about 10,000 miles ago with oem denso
ngk plug wires with ngk plugs
pioneer dvd cd touch screen
memphis audio in all 4 doors
new rear wheel bearings and seals


the bad
clear coat is faded on hood and roof
driver seat is ripped
steering wheel upper is coming apart

truck runs great never given me any issues I've owned it for 5 yrs 140, xxx miles, I bought it from my parents they bought it at 70, xxx miles. I just need a full size truck now.

NADA blue book value for current condition with the stock parts. Add to that 30% for the upgrades you have done and then surf Craigslist for comparable vehicles to get an idea of what it is worth.

I hate to point out that doing the maintenance does not increase the resale value but it won't decrease your asking price because the next owner would have to do it. Even more sadly is you can invest as much as you want into suspension, stereo and what not and at the end of the day it doesn't add much to the value of the truck to a Soccer mom. If it's a hunter or kid with dreams of crawling the dunes it might be a different story.

It just depends on how fast you want to sell it. I have had plenty of experience in selling bikes and cars over the years to know that it all comes down to your local market, how in demand your particular vehicle is, and how patient you are when it comes to asking price. I actually sold my 04 Corolla for $400 more than what I was asking because they wanted my double DIN touch screen Pioneer head unit that I was going to remove. On the other hand my wife's 04 Honda Civic I just traded in because I never received even one interested call on it and the local asking price was about the trade in value anyway.

Be open and honest with any potential buyers but don't afraid to be firm on the asking price. Truth is you will still get more for it by selling it yourself than a trade in because it's a 3rd Gen 4R ready to go. By going with the NADA value it increases your selling base because a lot of banks won't guarantee a loan for more than the NADA value regardless of age.

I'd say, $4000, $4500 max, around here. All the maintenance (and tires) is good but it probably won't add a lot to the value, though it might make it easier to sell.

if he repaired the faded clear coat , as well as the torn seat and steering wheel cover, how much more would you pay?
I think these cosmetic items are a huge turn off to buyers and reduce the price more than it would cost to fix them.

Around here (southwest Missouri) if the paint were good he might get $5000 for it. The seat cover tear is typical and not a big deal for a 16-year-old truck, as is the steering wheel cover. The paint would help, but I still think $5K tops around here, with the paint fixed.

This is a dealer, and I doubt he'll get that what he's asking for this one - probably take $5000 or less (and a dealer will typically get quite a bit more than an individual). And it looks great, good interior, and less miles: 1997 Toyota 4Runner Limited

It does vary with the area - Colorado and the west coast bring quite a bit more (probably 10%-20% more). Like vanion2 said, if the right guy comes along and wants all the goodies, and figures up what it would cost for the tires, lift, and LED light, he might get more, but I still think $4500 or a little more is probably tops as it sits. (I hope I'm wrong, since we all want as much as we can get. )
