What's my '03 worth?

Thinking about a new vehicle and checked out online pricing with NADA and KBB.

What a huge difference between these 2, and it's consistent between retail and trade-in values.

It's an '03 SR5, 2wd with V-8 and leather, 130K miles in great shape.

KBB lists trade around $6300 and retail around $8500.

NADA lists trade at $8900 and retail around $12,300.

Any idea what I can expect?

The best thing you can do is search online and see what other similar vehicles are selling for.

If you plan on trading in the vehicle, I would recommend working out a price with the dealership BEFORE letting them know what you are interested in buying. Or you could take it to a Toyota dealership and sell it outright to them before your purchase.

When I buy a new vehicle I:

1) Sell the current vehicle
2) Secure financing through the credit union
3) Negotiate the price on the new vehicle

Worth is different for everyone but if I was still in the market to buy a 4runner, assuming your vehicle was never in a major accident and everything checked out at a mechanic shop, I would pay 6k for it and maybe 6.5k.

On the other hand, if your not in too much of a hurry to buy another vehicle, I say list it at KBB value of $8500 and try to get at least $8000 for it. It might take a little bit of time to sell at that price but I've seen some sell at near KBB prices and higher. I was recently in the market to buy and noticed that almost every seller list their vehicle at KBB. Some even higher but I did notice that these vehicles did not sell in the 2 months that I was searching.

Look at Edmunds too for appraised value.
I would say take an average of all three values and that's your sell price
