What's normal 0-60 for a SC 4runner mines not to great

Ok so I was gonna make a video for youtube a 0-60 time. But it's way to slow i didn't want to post it lol. I started a roll on from 20mph and it took like 8 seconds!! :( I have headers full exhaust and a 2.2 pulley I wasn't expecting it to be so slow. I mean I picked up tons of torque I can do stand still burn outs it pulls really good in sand and climbs sand hills great. I'm thinking maybe its my tires? I have 31.5 km2's on tundra rims. I just hooked up the boost gauge and it's making 7lbs of boost.

Are you running the 7th?

If not you shouldn't even be running that 2.2 without at least meth injection

Na no seventh injector all stock just rebuilt stock injectors. The air fuel ratio is fine its getting plenty of fuel And I haven't even had any pinging at all

As long as you are keeping track, but I am pretty surprised you can run the 2.2 with no pinging.

That's basically my setup... except I have the 7th injector and tuned software. Now I want to go check out my times...

I haven't hooked up a boost gauge... but does the URD 2.2 pulley really only put out ~7lbs of boost? I would think it would be more.
Maybe your problem is a boost leak somewhere?
Check the bypass?

Yeah I was surprised to that there was no pinging but I have a air fuel gauge and reads good and just keep dumping more fuel as it revs out and builds boost. I was wondering where I should be at boost wise with that 2.2 it's a used supercharger off eBay. Do you guys know where my boost leak could be or maybe it needs a rebuild?

Mine boosts to about 7psi with the 2.2 at 5400ft so that sounds about right. No pinging or fuel starvation here either.

My 0-60 time is Slow.4 seconds

35's and stock gearing isn't helping

Any reason right?

I haven't been able to flog mine since I've been to college. OBX header gaskets failed and I dont wanna risk burning up an exhaust valve, so I drive like grandpa

torque is nice....the s/c doesn't make it a race car.

It just gives it some balls! Do a 0-60 next to a N/A 3rd gen and you will feel better. :thumb3:

I have no legit information to contribute though, I haven't ever timed mine. Maybe I will this week now....

Hell yeah I love the torque! it feels like it has more low end then my 4.7 tundra did in the sand. Right now I'm at 80 percent throtel wide open according to the code reader I think if I break that tab off the throtel body it will let it open up to 100 percent throtel I'm gonna try that out tomorrow.

I'm at 7 pounds on my stock pulley at about 600 ft elevation. My friend pulls 10-11 psi on a 2.1" pulley with URD mods and Meth. His truck flat flies.

NONONONONONO Do NOT do that!!!!
The TPS is at 80, doesn't mean the throttle plate isn't opened all the way!!!

BTW you should still tune the truck... will make a difference..
Also, is it auto? Is the valve body stock? That is probably making a .5-1 second difference....

agreed, the correct operating range for your Throttle Position Sensor is about 11%-75% give or take a few. 11% is closed, 75% is full open. don't mess with it.
my truck is supercharged, stock pulley i hit 5-6psi. with a 2.2 pulley i hit 7-8 psi, with 2.0 pulley i can hit ~10psi at WOT at 4k with water/methanol injection.
I live at 5400ft.
In regard to original post, my s/c 4runner feels about as fast as my n/a stock 4runner, mostly because I have huge/heavy tires on it.
If you want to make a race truck, you might consider a platform that does not include 4wd or seating for 5... power can be made with the 5vz,and it will be fast. but the limits are well understood. Otherwise just be happy with it.
read up on customtacos.com, token solutions, URD, water/methanol injection.:nerd:

Ok thanks I won't mess with the Trotel body and yeah trans is taking awhile to shift especially from 2nd to 3rd around 70mph and in 4low running it real hard it will sometimes bounce on the rev limiter In between shifts. I'm not trying to build a race car or a street truck just make good power for the sand and I like to race on the streets occasionally when a truck lines up next to me or a small Honda lol

As others have stated the mods won't make it a race car, just more DD friendly.
Running headers, 2.1 pulley, URD 7th/comp, valve body uprage and progressive meth. Heavy tires, plate bumpers front/rear, skids , etc take there toll.
Pulling away from stop lights is sure fun though it starts screaming.
