What's This Button?

im pretty sure that is to measure the outside temperature (or to help with the reading). . . there is one in almost every car that has an outside temp reading somewhere on the car. . i do not have this as mine is an SR5, but my KIA Soul has this, and that is what its for. . .

the outside air temp sensor needs to be......wait for it...........on the outside of the car. They're typically mounted somewhere near the front grille.

I don't have one..so I can't answer.
 
I started fiddling with this button at stop lights and noticed it turns red lights green!

Sometimes it takes a couple minutes though...I haven't figured out how to make it more effective. Must be an angle of incidence problem...perhaps an array of mirrors or a more powerful alternator...
