Whats This Doohickey Called?

So i figured this might be a good thread to start where members post up pictures or descriptions of parts and locations of an object that they have no idea what its function or purpose is on the 4Runner.
This came to mind while i was reading over another thread and the OP did not know what one part was we mentioned to take a look at.

You haven't blown a MAF sensor code yet, "oxygen too lean" or something along those lines? Or would that even cause a CEL?

Air intake elbow

Looks like you have ISR (Intake Silencer Removal) Mod or a CAI (Cold Air Intake).

I don't have the knowledge of PN to replace it with, but that crack is letting unfiltered air into your engine... bad juju

you mean the rock chip guards?

Is that what those are? They are only a couple inches long at most. I would think there is another purpose for what he's talking about. If we are thinking about the same thing, it would only protect chips from approximately one rock.

Is that what those are? They are only a couple inches long at most. I would think there is another purpose for what he's talking about. If we are thinking about the same thing, it would only protect chips from approximately one rock.

that's exactly what they are, on the limited lower body panels on the doors mine have rock chips on the bottom of the door, mine do not have those rock patches and it shows with the paint.
