i got close to a 3 inch lift on my 06 LTD V8 2wd. i do a 40 mile traffic commute (round trip) everyday and i am getting between 17 and 17.5 per gallon. i get that average from the number of miles i have divided by the amount of gas that i put in...i always fill up before i go empty. just topped off the tank tonight with 17.5 gallons with 298 miles traveled so i got 17.01 miles/gallon on that last tank.
What's your MPG with a 3" lift on a V8?

that's what i think as well. i've been watching it kinda close since i got the truck earlier this year swapping up from my 1990 4R V6 w 225K miles on it. my old 4R averaged around 16 - 17 miles to the gallon. was hoping not to have a higher gas bill but that didn't work out, the gas mileage is pretty close the problem is i am driving the new 4R WAY more =) i love my new truck.

d'oh i didn't factor that in....OEM is 265/60-18 and i am running 265/65-18 which is around 1 inch different from OEM.
so i am actually getting better gas mileage than i calculated because i am actually going further than registered?
if i am doing this right (from what i have read) this would mean the following:
i am getting approximately 3.4% more mileage from the bigger tires (calculated here)
so that would mean i got 308 (=298*1.034) miles out of 17.5 gallons and 17.6 MPG.

either this thing isnt accurate, or im driving ms. daisy. :jaw drop: thats with a full tank after about 40 miles on the highway on a cool night. 05 V8 2WD stock size tires with a daystar 2.5/1.5

Agreed. I can fill up, reset and drive DOWN the highway into town and get an average of about 75mpg by the time I get there. :lmao:

Anyways I thought this little site with its Signature link, would help out the thread. You can put your info in, and add to your signature so it shows your MPG, fill ups.
