OEM LED/HID headlights and blind spot monitor
What's your T4Rs missing feature or annoyance??

Cons: Heated steering wheel. As previously mentioned, the old Ford Explorer rear hvac was superior. Power rear lift gate. Toyota Safety Sense. Toyota remote start is terrible. Front locker. Spare switches for accessories.
Pros: Thankful for old school drivetrain. Also appreciate manual hvac controls, not a fan of auto climate control. Infotainment, it's simple and works.

Been driving a 5th gen Limited for several years until it was totaled. Been given a barebone Yaris to drive by the insurance. The shock was enormous. So here we go:
1. headlights: I left the LE in auto mode and never needed to do anything. I had to manually turn the headlights on in the Yaris. Surprisingly, it took a few cycles to learn that and it was no issue.
2. Press button ignition vs key: I like the key a lot better than the button because I could go back from Engine On to Accessory so whatever podcast I was listening would't be stopped. It also will not auto shutoff.
3. Heated seats: I missed that a little but then the Yaris warms up quickly so that wasn't a big deal.
4. Lane watch: Yaris beeps every time I change lanes. Very annoying. If I can't stay in my lane, I shouldn't be driving.
5. CarPlay, etc: I never understand the need for these things. You have a phone that does everything you need, there is no need to project it to the car screen. Just add a phone holder and do it on the phone. I absolutely hate it when drivers fiddle with their damn phones. Same reason you shouldn't do it on the car screen. Just stop it.
6. Only thing I miss is Yaris doesn't have remote entry. I had to use the key to lock/unlock the doors. This is the only thing that I wished for. So all in all, I think 4R is perfect as it is, minus the push button start!

My previous 2 vehicles were 3rd and 4th gen 4runners. I miss the motor that closed the rear hatch and the button on the key fob that rolled down the rear window.
Am glad I don’t have to deal with things like auto climate control, infotainment, blind spot, etc. if I needed all that stuff I would’ve bought a minivan.

I was surprised (and a tiny bit disappointed) that the power passenger's seat is only a 4-way (2 axes). At that point, might as well be a manual seat. My '96 Impala SS has a 6-way power passenger seat + manual recline.
Maybe I'm just an old fogey (despite probably being one of the younger members here!) but it feels like I'm in less control. I might change my mind about changing lanes immediately after tapping the turn signal stalk (while still on the first flash). Every once in awhile I may even bump the stalk on accident. A few times I've even successfully used just one or two very brief manual flashes in succession to alert a driver behind me that they inadvertently left their turn signal on.

Wife says it’s perfect. Technically her daily driver (my toy). Ours kinda has auto headlights, I leave them on and when I lock it with the fob they turn off. Idk kinda? I wish they didn’t engineer the exhaust under the driveline.

1. The carpet weave catches and holds grass, etc...
2. The rear hatch is poorly designed for snow\ice conditions.
When the rear hatch is opened if there is any snow or ice in the void that the top lip rotates down into it can stop the door from opening or cause damage.

There’s plenty I’d like to see approved upon but for true annoyances...
1. Random switches aren’t lit up. Like the rear window switch. All the others are lit, why not those?
2. Low beams are a joke, as are the interior lights.
3. Ridiculous info screen in the gauge cluster that looks like it’s from the 80’s.
4. Not enough tie downs in the back, miss the sliding ones my Xterra had.
There is way more to love though.

I hear you on the rear window switch. How can that happen??
I did LED headlights and fog lights as well as all interior lights. That made a huge difference.
