What's your T4Rs missing feature or annoyance??

I'd have really liked if the Limited trim came with a heated steering wheel, seems that's a very popular gripe on here.

The headlights sucked, but were easily remedied with an HID conversion on the lowbeams.

The cargo area floor height SUCKS with the 3rd row seats folded down.

The rear wiper is a TERRIBLE design, the part you actually look through is the narrowest part of the wiper's path and it's still too low on the glass for where I'm trying to look through in the rear view mirror, this one makes me nuts!

I’m not big on all of the new technologies that have come out in the recent years. I purchased my 2018 in hopes to get a brand new 4Runner before these new features were added. As long as I have my 4WD, Heat, A/C and radio, I’m happy. I guess I do miss my stereo with Apple Play that I put in my 2010 4Runner. The only other thing would be if Toyota could figure out a way to make the rear passenger windows fingerprint proof. My daughters have the ability to draw elaborate pictures on them. I think they are trying to drive me insane!

This was my thinking, except the fingerprint problem, when I bought a 2017 TRD OffRoad I didn't want all the tech BS that comes on a lot of newer vehicles the biggest item I miss from the previous vehicle is auto headlights.

After a month of ownership I came up with the following:

Customization (door lights and light timers) capability from the dash screen (my 06 GTO can do this)
Auto headlights (06 GTO has it)
One switch/button to turn on all the interior lights
Cooled seats on any Runner with heated seats
Better quality picture for the backup camera

Someone else mentioned it but I also miss the centre info panel that my '13 had (vs. the clock only on my '15).

My biggest gripe has got to be the lack of a V8 followed closely by the undersized fuel tank.

Coming from a GMC Sierra All Terrain I miss the following...

V8 power
Heated defroster where the wipers sit
HID or LED headlights from the factory (I mean, you spend enough on the damn truck as is)

Otherwise i'm happy with what the 2019 TRD Pro has, other than I could do without the sliding rear deck. Radio has nav and sat which SXM is pretty much all that I listen to anyway.

Digital readout of tire pressure of each tire



I still love the car and it’s one of the best Japanese made SUVs out there.

I feel stupid...I've only had the truck for a couple days and never even looked over there. Figured it would be paired with the rear/mirror defrost...

Anyway, thanks for that heads up...that makes me happier

I had the 5.3...with nearly identical numbers around 380 from the motor...made merging on the highway easy...though I don't miss the tire spin on slippery roads

5.3 makes 355/383and the 6.2 makes 420/460. I wouldn’t call those identical...

The L83 (5.3L) can take E85 which gives a 20-25 bhp bonus, bringing it close to the peak power of the Gen IV 6.2s.

Lol no where near the same number but just the same if you ran the 4wd in auto mode it would never spin the tires. Even with the 6.2.

The 4Runner is like Conan the Barbarian, Basic and Solid. You seem to want something like IronMan, full of gadgets. But seriously all I am waiting for, is to see what engine it will get for the next Gen.

Power retractable outside mirrors. It’s kinda hard to believe that an SUV doesn’t come with these. Locking gas flap. Folks who need gas know the 4runners are easy targets, unless you put an aftermarket locking cap on, mine has tool marks from someone trying to get my gas, twice.
