Wheel offset, need input ASAP

Thanks to many hours of searching this site I picked up a low mileage 06 sport about 5 weeks ago and just put a daystar kit in it friday and some 265/70-17 duratracs on yesterday. Super happy with everything but the offset on the new wheels. I ended up with +25mm as that's what the discount guy recommended based on my desire to have the wheels flush to sticking out a bit. I took his advice based on all the toyota talk we did (he's got a tacoma on 35's) but I'm really not happy with the stance. I found on the site that they make the same wheel in a -6mm offset which is ~1.4" and hoping for some input on how these will work/look. I think they'll be just what I'm looking for, especially for the price and not wanting to throw spacers in.

I'm open to any input on this one. With a newborn and very busy 4yr old at home I don't have nearly enough time to search endlessly on this one. I found some calculators that show the -6mm offset would be nearly 2" out further than stock. That seems like it might be ridiculous and maybe be too much on front end components as well?

If it helps I ran a 17x9 with -12 offset. Fit perfect.

Interesting, thanks. Per the calculator I used that's another 1/2" further than my option. No long term bearing/ball joint or seal issues?

Never had an issue. This was the offset the local Discount Tire guy was running on his Tacoma. It worked well and looked good so I duplicated it.

Good to know, much appreciated. This is the first time in 6+ sets of tires that I've had any issues with them. Now the fight to make them swap the wheels out.

did you just do the daystar budget boost or daystar on front 2.5 and rear 1.5? Im just wondering since I have the same year 4Runner

2.5/1.5. Me and a couple buddies knocked it out in 2 hrs. Thought about 275/70s but my impression was that everyone had some sort of rubbing and I want to keep my mpgs as best I can. Open to opinions on that now too since the wheels are going back.

Thanks, that's not nearly as much as I thought it would be. My XJ that I sold to pick up the runner had 35s with maybe an inch and a half hanging out so this is too much of a delta for me.

Your wheels are tucked. You need a wider setup. Lol.

Agreed. Will be interesting how the battle goes to get them swapped. There's less than a pinky width clearance on the inside.

If a wheel calculator tells you they will stick out 2" further than stock they will look good. I'm running 1.25/1.5 spacers and my wheels are about flush, could use a little bit more negative offset to look great though.

I have 1.5" spacers on my stock wheels with 255/70/17 tires and I think they are perfect. When I was looking at new wheels I had calculated that -12 would be about equal or a little less offset compared to this set up.

Sorry the side view picture isn't perfect but it was the best I can find.

i can tell you that i have 17x9 -12 with 1.25in spidertrax spacers and it runs real agressive with my set-up which i do like!
