So after all that, I opted for the ATX Mojaves from my first post. i got them in 17" wrapped in General Grabber AT2s - 265/65/17 for now, i don't have a lift yet.
problem 1 - the guys at tirerack did a piss poor job of balancing the wheels. 2 were fine, the other 2 were not. the weights on one were stuck to the inside wall of the tire while the weights of the other were all over the place, including the face of the wheel. i mounted these on the back and will deal with getting them rebalanced thus defeating the convenience of ordering online.
problem 2 - i got my wheels, my tires, my mounting hardware.. but no centercaps. i installed the wheels anyway (i was excited, haha) but i really think i would like to have my centercaps.
i've sent an email to tirerack.. we'll see how they handle it.

edit - just found this note on the page for the wheels - i'm re****ed.
