Wheel Spacer Install w/ bf&after Pictures. Not What I Expected!

got a great deal on these off the classified section, even got some new sweet gorilla lug nuts. However, Im not really happy with the end results. I was expecting a more noticable difference but whatever. I guess I might have to find a wheel with a different back spacing. The install was straight forward: locktight/100lbs torque down and rotated the tires while I was at it.

Before I installed these I had very minor rubbing in really tight u-turns(inside fenderwell). After I installed them, I could hardly drive in a circle due rubbing on outside flares. Not a big deal, just gotta do a little trimming.

The reason you dont see much difference is because you have fender flares. If you had no flares they would look real mean. I have the same issue but I still like the flares.

I think it's perfect. Do you want then to stick out past the flares? Just remember that if you do and run on any gravel trail, you'll shred the sides of your runner.

Looks good. Remove the plastic part of the mud flap though with an exacto-knife.

Looks perfect to me? I wouldn't want them sticking out any further than that. IMO, 1.25" spacers are perfect for anyone with full size flares. The 1.25's are what is on my brother's Limited and my sister's Limited.

Yea, but not much.. I really like the look of "baja" stances, nothing over the top, just a litte more then what i have..I may order a 2" body lift tonight, What brand are you guys running?

I just got a 1" in the mail from roger brown at 4crawler.com today. I'll put it in this weekend. The goal was to put on the 1" lift to handle a future ~1" spacer and eventual move to a 33" tire. I priced out 4crawler and it was slightly less than two others. $123 shipped vs $140 shipped. I did see a section of 2.5" UMHP rod on eBay and thought about ordering to make my own but decided to save the hassle. Got the roger brown lift in about 2 days from Cali.

Ok....at the risk of sounding dumb....why would you want your wheels to stick out anyway? The wheels on my full size stick out and all it does is throw rocks and dirt all over the sides of my truck.....paint is all chipped and scratched.

I wash my truck and 2 minutes later it's dirty from driving down the road and water slinging from the tires.

No hating here...Having these huge fender flares makes it look as tho my wheels/tires are hiding. I just wanted them to poke out a bit.. We dont have many gravel roads around here and it doesnt bother me to spray off my truck after a good rain..

Say on just a 3" susp lift. Will the 1.25 spacers cause the tire not to "tuck" into the wheel well, and hit the flare instead?

Honestly, I think if you were able to push the wheels out further, you would quickly realize that you don't like it. Hepar is right that the sides of your runner are going to get pounded. And it isn't a matter of spraying it off after driving, it is a matter of chipping the paint to hell. It will ruin you paint, and it will look terrible with no way to fix it other than full repaint. And I don't think you need gravel roads to do that, city roads will do it too, just perhaps not quite as quickly.

Also, if you have your window down and your arm out, you are going to get hit by kick-up too. It might even come inside the window.

I absolutely understand the love of the baja look, but I think most Dakar/Baja rigs have either fender flares or big flaps that the wheels don't stick out from to protect the rig and the driver (and the nice advertisements on the sides). Unless you are talking about buggies, but it's silly to try to make a 4runner look like a buggy.
