Wheel Spacers for 285/75/r16 with Boss Lift

It had some sentimental value... I got married in 1999 and my wife bought it brand new for me, as a wedding gift. We went on a ton of great wheeling, hunting and camping trips with it, too. You know, it was just like having a pet in the family for 15 years. I'm old and sappy... that's my excuse! LOL!

As far as the 4th gen is concerned, nope - she is an all around beast. I bought the 4th gen used and stock (w/ 60K on it) and did all the work myself. If you like the 3rd gen, you'll love the 4th gen!

aahhh your killing me.. I was hoping you said you regret, because the 3rd gen is better.. I like some that 4th gen have more power and roomier.. But I dont know if 4 more thousand dollars is worth the space..

I know what you mean about sentimental value.. I dont know if I could have sold it if my wife bought it for me..

I think the best answer to this is to have the tire place mount one up and check the fit. Although measured the same, different tires fit differently and there are way too many lift combinations to give a firm answer.

For example - my 4runner has a 1" body lift, '99 springs, 285/75-16 Duratracs on stock 5-star wheels. The tires do not hit the upper control arms or the front bumper lower plastic part (this is on a '97).
However, at full lock, the side lugs of the Duratracs do rub the frame - rear side of the axle center. I also had to pound the pinch weld flat and did some heat-gun re-shaping of the OE front mudflaps and fender liner. The tires still hit the pinch weld area at a certain steering angle + articulation.
It's fine for DD/mall crawling. Off road, I drive around the problem until I get around to a cut & patch solution. It's been this way for 3 years. With my setup, spacers will only make the pinch weld contact worse.

I ended up going with spacers and I'm happy I did. Clears everything. I got my lift installed already could of used the help haha. I am doing a body lift this next week as well as inner and outer tie rods, lbjs, steering rack and swing arm bushings. The bigger tires made the front wobble a little more noticeable. Also picked up a oem fog light switch to do the andy mod. Changed from the boss lift and ended up getting tundra bils 2nd perch w eibach and superflex and extended bils in the back and ss extended bump stops. All came together great. I'm in Saginaw

Hmmm I think you guys missed the part about wanting an 8" rim for 285s. I am running 285s with wheels that have 4" of BS and it is honest perfect. I am not a fan nor will I advocate the use of Wheels spacers. Never liked them. Some people do but I have personally seen them fail and it is never pretty

I've got 1.25 spidertrax on my 00 with the system 1.2 on 285-75-16 coopers and before I had the spacers I rubbed on the uca a little. I'm not sure much about hitting the I. We fenders, as I have some fiberglass wide fenders up front, but the uca rub went away with the spacer addition. Stock 00 limited wheels by the way.
