Wheel Spacers

On my 99 limited 4x4 I won't be able to lift it this summer like I planned, but I need tires so I at least want to go with 265/75 16 duratracs. With that tire size is it possible for me to also run a 1-1.25" spacer to give it a little more aggressive stance even without a lift?

It's definitely possible. You may have some rub on the front of the bumper because of the spacers. You should be able to run the 265/75s without spacers and have slightly less rub/no rub at all, depending on your wheels.

im running the same set-up you are planning on doing (but 1.25" front and 1.5" rear wheel spacer), plus a 1.5" daystar rear lift. Let me know if you want pics

Yea pics would be awesome! You also said you run a 1.25 and a 1.5 spacer, I was wondering what are the advantages of a wider track in the rear than the front?

From what I gathered, the rear axle is 1/2" shorter than the front, so I made up for that with running the bigger spacers in the rear

That actually looks really nice, exactly what I want as far as stance goes. No front lift just a rear spring spacer?

as of now, yes. I am in the market for some new shocks in the near future, so I may put a mild OME lift on it to keep that stance with a tad bit more lift, but nothing crazy

I ran 265/75/16 guard dogs with stock wheels and 1.25" spidertrax spacers. The front rubbed on the firewall/pinchweld area quite badly. I didnt consider it realisitically driveable like that. Heating up the plastic inner fender liner and pushing it back probably would have been enough to take care of most of the rubbing that you would experience in on-road driving.

I had my lift ready to go so I just installed that instead of cutting or pounding anything.

Lift or no lift, you will also rub in the rear on the mudflaps when flexing offroad. I have an aftermarket plate rear bumper now, so I don't have the issue.

Hmmm well I have a 99 with tall springs and it sits pretty high with quite a bit of wheel gap right now. I was thinking of doing the 1.5" daystar front and rear kit when I replace my shocks, so it should end up sitting quite a bit higher than a non-99 would stock. I might just get some spidertrax and put those on with what I have now, then do 265/75's soon when I need tires, and then eventually do my shocks and 1.5 spacer lift down the road.

You will have no problems doing 1.25" This is mine with 1.25" spacers but my tires are 285/75 so mine sits a little wider and I also have back spacing on my wheels.. I have a 3 inch lift but I had to do some trimming to not rub and i still have some rubbing on really tight turns. But, if you're running 265 you should have no problem

No, thats one of the main reasons i got the spacers.. When i had 265's on they were pretty close to touching the upper control arms so i knew that when i put my 285's on that i would need at least an inch wheel spacer
