Wheeler's T-12 & New T-13 Rear Lift Coils!

So, you set your 5100's at the .85" mark along with the T1 springs? Do you have UCAs as well? I have thought about moving my front 5100s to that notch to achieve a more level look, but can't decide if i should get UCA's at the same time?

Yes. I ran the T1's at the .85 setting. I wasn't a fan of the ride on or off-road. Seemed too stiff and the suspension wouldn't flex or absorb bumps as well.

Yes, you will need UCA's to get a good alignment and CV angles over the 2.5" T1.

If you had aftermarket UCA's you could run a .5" top plate and keep the good ride and alignment spec. I also tried this .5" top plate with T1's set at zero and it rode nice. Just needed UCA's for alignment.

I like the 2.5" setup the most for ride and to help with the COG due to Gobi and RTT.

This is T1 at 0 and T13 with 1" rear spacer.

-38mm offset makes those tires look HUGE.

Every time I read a spring thread I get more confused...

Can some one suggest a shock/strut & spring combo for me?

-Never go rock crawling but drive on a lot of gravel roads
-I tow like 25 times a year, 23 of those times are few miles and 2 are longer day long affairs. This is the real reason I'm looking for rear springs at all, cause the rear to sag into reverse rake when I tow
-I don't mind the soft stock spring setup. I carry a lot of weight in the back, maybe 250lbs but I took out the 2nd row as well so it counter balances that to some degree. I rather it be compliant than stiff especially with winter potholes up north
-I prefer stock rake or some rake. Do not want level as inevitably when towing it goes reverse rake.
-Easy (relatively) on budget...

Would stock springs, bilsteins 5100 at .85 front & T13 bilsteins 5100 fit the bill? I think the small spring rate increase in back would help me when towing vs stock rear spring. Alternatively maybe bilstein 5100 at 0 front with T1 but I don't know what increase in spring rate they are.... Plus associated trim packers which now seems to be leaning driver's front and rear...

TIA for help.

See my signature below... I have Bilsteins and T13 in the rear and love them. I did a Toytech lift in the front. However, it seems odd to me to spend a lot money to fix a reverse rake problem that only happens like twice a year... but it's your cash :-)

Mainly it's because I tow a double axle and it loads the tongue a bit much/ doesn't load the hind axle equally. I could get a different ball to raise the tongue but then it'd be reverse rake on truck still but with a level trailer while still soft in the rear.

I guess if I was super cheap I could just try the trim packers on the stock springs??? But figure I'd firm up all around??? Just need to know if stock springs in front and T13 / any 10% increase spring in rear with minimal height adjustment will throw balance off...

PS I'm anti - air bags... I've never had success with them. I know some guys rave about it but I've had enough bags blow that I'm not messing with that. I want set and forget...

Old thread but a great one!

Want to resurrect with a question. I am looking at the exact setup here using;
5100 all around at 0
T1/T13 with appropriate driver side trim/packing as suggested

Do any of you carry decent loads? I know a few mentioned this, but I hitch carry a dirt bike from time to time (few times a month) and worry about going nose high? But it's also my daily driver so this setup seems the best for $$ and my type of "offroad driving" (i.e. forest service roads).

Thanks for any answers...

This is the best way to keep a level or slightly raked truck from going nose up:
Air Lift 60809

Mine work great with lots of heavy gear in the back or towing a trailer.

I hitch carry a 250 lb enduro often and I am slightly nose high with T1/13 5100s at 0. A dirt bike exacerbates any rear sag that you would get from gear in the cargo area since it is so much farther behind the axle. Since I drive more without a load than with a load this is okay for me. I've thought about airbags but haven't done it yet since my OCD isn't triggered by this.

Ok huge thanks. I followed a few threads here for this lift. 1 more question I promise will be the last.....

Factory UCAs? You commented yours aligned perfectly, still good? I only ask bc I went with a 3/2 lift (2.5in ish) on my 2017 Taco and it f’d up alignment bad, despite the dealer telling me I didn’t need them. I ended up installing myself later and it was a PITA. So wondering should I just do UCAs now or save the money?

Thanks!

I did not do UCAs and I have perfect alignment.

Anyone have final rear lift heights with the T-12 in the rear on a 5th Gen? I have a 17 TRDPro and I'm looking at 14in springs in the front and T12 in the rear + 10mm spacer for leveling (at wheelers recommendation). I carry about 150 lbs of weight normally in the back, so stock it's already sitting level at the frame.

I was thinking of getting the T13, but was worried i'd end up with reverse rake with any weight in the back or a light trailer attached.

I have an '18 Pro, with the front half of the Pro specific lift from Toytec up front, and the T13 springs in the rear with the 10mm spacer on the driver's side. Mine sits only ~1/2" higher in the rear with that setup.

I've had it loaded down with a buddy and our gear for a week long trip, and seen no difference in ride height.

I've got 23" from the center of the front wheel hub to the center of the fender opening above it in front, and 23.5" at the same spots in the rear.

Very happy with the ride and performance, even after adding a steel SSO slimline bumper and winch.

@57HotrodWV Whats the net gain for lift in the front with that set up? I believe the Toytec is a 2", but without swapping springs, I'm sure the SSO bumper and winch eats up some of that? I'm swapping to 14x650's so I get the full 2" of lift.

I'll also be adding SSO Bumper/Winch, sliders and rack, plus I have racks in the back end and other gear as well.

The front portion of the Toytec adds ~1.75" up front. It includes a set of thicker lower spring perches, which increases pre-load on the springs, and that provides 1" of lift. Surprisingly, I didn't lose any lift when adding the bumper and winch. There is a good chunk of weight lost when some of the stock bumper parts are removed to add the SSO bumper.

I've got Shrockworks sliders, and full armor as well.

Now I'm even more concerned about the T12 vs the T13 I the rear, and ending up extremely raked down. If I get 2in up front for the 14" springs, I was hoping for 2in from the T12s, but if it's closer to 3in, it will looks really off.

Finally had a chance to get some photos up:

Bilstein 5100s all around, front at 0
Wheeler's T1 front with 1/4" spacer driver's side (approx 2.5")
Wheeler's T13 rear with 10mm OME trim packer driver's side (approx 1.5")

Cross posted on the lifted pix thread and the Wheeler's T1/T13 thread over on 4runners.com

Are you still on this same setup? Hows the ride been with this setup? And do you have any sagging with loads in the rear?

Yes, I am. 62k on that truck. I also now have a 2019 ORP that I did the same suspension setup to, since I liked it so much.

Ride has been fine. Better than stock. No complaints about handling.

I have a hidden winch on both (+60 lbs ish), there has been very minimal sagging to the front of maybe 1/3", just barely noticeable from what was perfectly level.

There is rear sag with heavy loads.

I've just installed the Eibach Pro Truck lift topped with Toytec TP14 1/4" spacers on the front of my 2012 Trail along with Dobinson's UCA's. I measured from ground to fender bottom and got a solid 3" after a short drive.

I'll be doing the T12's in the rear next weekend. Pics to follow after rear is done.
