Wheeling and Camping Oct 8-9th

The Big Bear Discovery Center is an excellent place to meet up. It has a big parking lot that's perfect. It's across from Serrano on North Shore dr. I've used it before on some of my runs. fwiw. :grouphug:

Just got this from Tim GVL: being hwy 18 closed and water crossing at 3N16 is closed. The route is now GVL meet spot to 2N13 to 3N14 to 4N16. I will update the first page trail route.

GVL said he thinks there's a small fire. I will check discovery center for closures. If anyone knows any info please post it up so I can update the first page.

We took 2N13 to fawnskin. It took about 45 minutes. Nice drive. Wife really wants to shop. $$$ :nod:

It is closed for construction. It shows one way traffic during the week. It would be faster to take 2N13 from Green Valley Lake like I just did. It's an easy dirt road. I did it all in 2wd and didn't air down my tires. I will be taking that way back as well since 18 is still closed.

did Tim say why 3N16 is closed at the water crossing? Seems early in the season. That's a long way around considering 3N16 is a direct route.

2N13 is a great drive to cut across the mountain, especially if there's traffic.

Not making saturdays run due to work.. but will still arrive later in the evening to camp. I'm hoping to make a run Sunday morning, if time & the warden permit. Looking forward to stories around the campfire :pop2::cheers:
