Wheeling in Pine Barrens NJ Nov 17th, 2012

I find out tomorrow. But my first thoughts are that water got in the MAS, and threw a CE light. The CE light cleared after work today, however the transmission is really shifting badly, after each upshift in normal driving it feels like going to neutral. I drop it off at Galaxy Toyota in Eatontown, NJ tomorrow at 7am.

I did hit some some puddles quickly, but hard to nail the cause at the moment.

That's what mine was doing. DON'T drive it. It'll make it worse man

Did the brakes get messed up too or were they just due to be replaced? Hope you get it back soon, any idea when?

Anyone else have problems with their trucks? Ken, yours was making a noise too, right? I'm not sure if I should be worried or not. Since I've hit pavement I've driven about 220 miles or so. Everything seems normal but I'm worried if any fluids got contaminated or anything. I don't think I can check the trans fluid (sealed transmission?)

They were due. I stopped hard in rain and they warped and chunks got taken out.

The transmission ain't sealed up. Check your fluids. Trans fluid is accessible in the engine bay I believe. If its milky, change it now

For all those interested:
It's been a while since there has been a Piney Run. I was sent a PM about doing another piney run. I figured with the upcoming events, NH Fall Crawl, Pine Barrens Cleanup, Thanksgiving and then soon after is Xmas, December 1st would probably be the best time. It's a week after Thanksgiving and a few weeks before Xmas. Hopefully this will allow for more people to join in. The details haven't been worked out yet, but as always, they will be shortly. For now this is just to be posted to see if there is any interest.

This will be a great way for some of the new members to come out and join us for a day on the trails. Easiest trails around...well, except for some of the water crossings, but mostly everything has go a-rounds.

Everyone will meet at 8:00am at the following coords . Once you turn right (if you're coming from Rt 72) (left if you're coming from Whiting, NJ) onto Bryant Rd, follow it until you get to the very first turn on your right. Follow that road down until you get to the meeting place coords (or first entrance on your left).

My truck. I'm pissed at the service guys but the story is too long to type. Long story short, the dumbass put a hold on the service to have the warranty rep come out and look at it even though at 8:30 this morning I called and said "I want to forgo the warranty, just fix it so I can get home" yet the service rep (Darnell at Holman Toyota/Scion in Mount Laurel, NJ) put the hold on it anyway, saying that his manager wouldn't let him lift the hold. I'm mighty pissed about that. Lee has been gracious to let Sarah and I stay at his house, but I'm not looking at moving down here! I WANT TO GO HOME GOD DAMN IT.

So they want $1,007.33 for rear rotors and pads, and to flush and fix the transmission. I called major bullsh*t and demanded Darnell's manager. He was rather apologetic after I told him what is going on. I'm getting a discount. It's my damn vehicle and it will be fixed how I say, not what they think is best.

I remember Toyota service being enjoyable...

Alex, you should get a rental from them and go home and when it fixed come back for it. And they should pay for all of this. No wonder my friend at Toyota don't like Holman Toyota.

i never had a problem with Holman toyota, but it looks like ill end up having a problem next time i go back there. maybe i should go back to liberty toyota where i started going in the first place.. sorry alex! but hey, its been fun with you staying with me lol.

Unfortunately, I'm too young to rent a car from them. It's bullsh*t that I can die for my country, but I can't rent a car or drink, etc. at 18. Oh well! I'm responsible and I'm just really glad I broke down here and Lee was able to save us and give us somewhere to sleep lol. He's the best, by far.

Yea, I've had better experiences getting broken bones set without anesthetics...

It was great man! We really appreciate what you've done for us and we are actually leaving this 5 day weekend with a smile cause it was super fun haha. Stories to tell our kids lol

My truck was making noise too but I changed the serpentine belt yesterday and that was the cause. It was the original with 82k on it. No other issues thank god.

I have no idea if my squealing belt went away or not. I just want my truck back!

If its squealing, I'll just ask the service dude to borrow a can of belt dressing and get it all cleaned up

My truck is making weird sound when it is on, but drives fine. I think it is just wet from me trying to soak all that dirt away from undercarrage and the car. I feel bad for those who are having problems, but hopefully you get back on your trucks very soon.
