Wheeling in Pine Barrens NJ Nov 17th, 2012

Ok, I'm officially home and happy. The Trail Groomer survived the trek and now I just have to get the pulleys changed out.

Transmission feels odd at times, but it is much better than when I picked it up this morning. It is relearning my shift points and feels almost normal.

I averaged ~20mpg and was able to go from Burlington, NJ to Andover, MA on 15.26 gallons! I'm impressed haha

Great news Alex. My truck is still at the dealership since yesterday. No diag yet....

Empty. Flush. Refill. I believe I said that before. Not trying to be a **** but it's as simple as that

Just got the call, I am getting a new transmission, covered under my extended warranty. Seems that my being stuck in 4LO threw a bunch of codes that Toyota respects for coverage. So, dodged that bullet.

That's great news. So you didn't suck in water after all? By the way, were you able to get out of 4lo or did you have to drive home like that?

Well, it came out, but still indicated on the dash. Then threw a CE light, VSC light and ATRAC light... so something went wrong.

The fact that you didn't suck in water makes me feel better. I know Alex was hood-deep in water so that is somewhat understandable but I didn't see you go deeper than the rest of us.

Just going to mention this now before I forget again. Anyone on Facebook, there is a 4Runner club with members from Virginia to Connecticut and all the states in between. They go wheeling periodically, I have yet to go yet though. Some of you may already be in it but to those that aren't, you should join!

Glad to hear that. Are this transmissions bound to lock like that over time? Or when its not use regularly. Thought I saw one of the guys with the red salsa having trouble getting out of Low4 at the pit.

I try to run my 4x4 (L&H) at least every other week just to lubricate.

Yep, don't know who it was but the guy with the stock Salsa Red V8 got stuck in 4lo, tapped the actuator and became unstuck.

I use my truck on the beach all the time in 4wd. Odd, but I am very happy I went full whack on the extended warranty...

Lucky! I'm gonna clean my truck and say that I was stuck in NJ and they forced me to flush and refill it but its shifting weirdly and I want it replaced. See what they say.

So I went to my mechanics to check the weird noise my car was making, it is idling pulley that making noise I mested it up when was washing my truck, next time no power wash. Lol

Mike, I powerwashed at home, but i extensively washed undercarrage and in front and under wheel weal. So when i was washing the dirt of in front of the truck from bumper and skid plates, i guess that when i mess them up.

Nah you should be fine. My truck's idler pulley is gone and I haven't cleaned my truck at all. It's just dirt in the bearing
