There was a guy on this forum that claimed he was 6'5" and could fit in the 3rd row seat. I wonder if Shaq could fit in it too.
 
I think the most disturbing thing I've gotten out of this thread is the Jeep Liberty outselling the 4Runner in 2018. WTF!?!

They stopped making the Liberty in 2012. Do you mean the Compass?

It doesn't really surprise me. Car-based crossovers are cash cows right now. The Wrangler and 4Runner are the only truck SUVs left, and the 4Runner is outsold 2 to 1 because it's a dinosaur. Most people value flashy tech over long-term dependability.
 
I saw a Jeep Renegade with some Maxtrax strapped to the top the other day. I guess that makes sense since it will get stuck off-road. Cheaper than a 4Runner though.

He'll probably get further offroad than most people with 4Runners, including myself. I bought mine for Costco runs.

Yep, I meant Compass, from the list on pg 3. Same difference to me. They will likely can that jewel of a turd soon too.

lol as much as I love my Pro Toyota needs to step up their game. I watched a youtube video comparing the Pro to a new Jeep. The Jeep came with way more technology for what you pay for over a Pro. I wouldn't ever buy a jeep but sure as hell be nice if the 4runner had some if not all what that jeep has. I used to think the jeeps inside needed more to it not anymore. The 4runner does!!

That's the difficult thing for me.

I really love the idea of the 4Runner. But..but being practical, I am having such a hard time justifying 40K (because the TRD premium is the way to go, lol) for a vehicle that will honestly get little trail time. So it becomes a vehicle that's slower and more expensive with less features and worse gas mileage than other vehicles that I might cross shop.

The "new" technology makes me want to stay right where I am with my 2018 ORP.

I know this is not comparing apples to apples, but I drove a new (60 miles on the odo) 2019 Ford Ranger XLT Sport quad cab for three days last week. Any manufacture who offers that auto-start/stop, lane departure, etc. crap can keep it. On top of that, it had the worst ride of any truck I've driven in the past 20 yrs. Transmission was atrocious and there is zero room in the back seat. The only positive was it ran like a scalded dog due to the turbo charger.

I drive a lot of rentals due to job travel. Mazda, Nissan, Volvo, GM, etc. all have this "new" technology; no thanks. The only exception has been the 2019 Ram, but I think I just like the sound of that Hemi when the accelerator is slammed to the floor. :)
