Where did you mount your CB radio?

I'm trying to decide where to mount my CB radio. There are a couple of location I'm considering (in ashtray, passengers side of center console, inside the center console) but I wanted to hear from you guys and hopefully see some pictures of your set up.

I have seen a lot of guys do it that way, and I have been leaning toward doing that my self but it kinda limits you to a compact system.

Do you know of anyone mounting a CB inside the center console?

I plan on running a CB below a single DIN deck. I saw a model with a forward speaker on it that would fit awesome on someone's pics. I have to keep my ash tray for all the money I keep finding in this 4R I got.

Nice I don't know too many people that has a money fairy in it.

How did this work out for you? I would be worried about the Mic connection getting broken if you had a passenger while on the trail.

You can get various heights if u want but I went with the 6'' seem to get the job done

I am running a Cobra 29 nw tuned to 40 watts w/ a wilson 1000 gets the job done for me and the mount makes thing flexible and is a breeze to install

I like the idea of the smaller ones cause they are less intrusive but still function well enough to get the job done. Is there any opposition to the smaller CB radio sets verses the midsized or full sized?

Its really not in the way of the passengers feet. I like it on the p side so its completely out of my way.

The connection is held by a rubber grommet and the plastic trim. Once screwed down, the grommet will pop or plastic tear before it damages the CB.

Just wouldn't put it where mine is, is all. Seems like it would be hard to make it look right in that spot. I haven't mounted the smaller one I have for the 99 yet, but I'm leaning towards the ash tray spot. Replacing that constantly falling open tray with something useful, oh yeah.

I have my Uniden 520xl in the ashtray spot and it works well. Had it the same way in my '02 Tacoma for years too. I'll try to get a pic of it when I get the right angle PL259 connector so I can get it to sit more flush. I have my 2m radio below the stereo in the single din space.

I didn't mount mine anywhere. It goes from rig to rig, and stays in my garage when I'm not wheeling.
