where is the sensor

I understand there is a sensor that may affect the overdrive not changing up in my 1989 toyota truck. Does anybody know where this sensor is located? I would appreciate any help. Thanks!!

Don't know if this is true all the way back to '89, but for many years Toyota has set up the computer to look at a combination of engine temp (coolant temp) and trans fluid temp. Both have to be above a certain level for the computer to allow shifting into overdrive.

The sensor is located generally where the upper radiator hose attaches to the cylinder head.
