Its been posted around here many times, but here's a link for the '84-'89 ('88 specific) 4 runner manual again:

You may need to give it some time to download, as its a slow website sometimes and the file is ~88mb.

There's no PDF of an '86 FSM. There's an '85 and an '88. The '88 is closer to your '86 as they're both IFS, but there might be differences in the emissions stuff and wiring diagrams.
Hi, all I just picked up and got a '85 4runner running. I was looking for a service manual and stumbled on this forum! Awesome, I'm gonna be asking a lot of questions in the next few weeks and months as i want to get this truck up and running as my DD and a hunting rig. Could anyone send me the service manual for the 85 4runner? Also did the factory every have a parts list or parts manual or is it part of the service manual?

What I have is a pdf copy of the service manual. It does not have part numbers but does use the name of parts that are some time different than what we would call things. ie. propeller shaft vs Drive shaft. helpful when at the dealer. LOL.

I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 1996 4Runner with the 3rz-ef engine ( 4 cylinder). Looking forward to beginning some projects and getting her tuned up.....needs a new clutch also. Would appreciate any help on obtaining service manual and wiring diagrams for that year.

I recently acquired a beautiful 1994 4Runner SR5 4WD paired to a 5spd manual and the 3.0 V6. I am also over at Expedition Portal. I scanned through this thread looking for someone who had a FSM for 1994 but didn't find anything. Any suggestions or leads on where I can find one?

I think the 93 is the only one that's been PDFd. It'll work for almost everything you'll need. If you had to have the specific '94 manual your options are to pay a subscription at a site like toyodiy.com or find a '94 paper manual on EBay.

Just a tip...
Now that you guys have your FSM, I suggest you send a copy to your smartphones so you have it handy at al times. Especially the electrical schematic because that something you do no see right in front of you, unlike mechanical parts.

Hey guys, I just bought a 2001 4runner SR5 auto 4x4. I already downloaded the FSM for the 96-02 4runner, but the manual was actually for a 96 taco. It looks like the engine section for the 3.4 is all there but I'm thinking the drivetrain could be a good bit different. Does anyone have a link for an 01 or possibly 02 4runner?
