Which deal should I take on '05 Sport V8

I think everyone ignore what additional options the sport has.
Bigger brakes
6-spoke alloy rims
X-suppension (I love how my handles around high speed corners)
dark fabric (better quality my opion, hides dirt)
hood scoop???
sunroof is nice to have (lets sun in during the dark days and lets air in during the hot days)


Price wise I would check out MSRP/invoice difference and see if there is a better deal.

My opinion, I went with the sport because of the above additional options.

So, I'm about to replace my 1990 4Runner (1st gen?) with a new one. I've been shopping around and got a few deals, but these two are probably the best.


A) 2005 V8 Sports Edition with sunroof, JBL stereo, and roof spoiler... $30,400 before tax, tags, title, and registration


B) 2005 V8 SE, only roof spoiler. $29,000



I'm about to pull the trigger, so all input is welcomed. I'm kinda leaning towards option A, but B is very tempting

Doesn't he mention he wants an SE in both options? Sports Edition - SE right???

Go with the sunroof. JBL was junk, I thought the lower sound system was less fuss and sounded more like a stereo.

placed a deposit on the V8 sports edition, sunroof, and JBL stereo. Vehicle is at the port which is only 30 miles from the dealer. Should be here by next week.


Only reason for going with option A, was because the dealer was closer and I might want to upgrade to OEM NAV later.

Thanks guys, my 1990 T4R is going to sadly missed. Tough engine though (no power compared to the new V8. It only had 150 horses.

I am kind of neutral on sun roofs(living in AZ). I really don't know if they are worth the trouble.

One nice feature on the newer T4R's is that you can partially roll down the rear window.
This works great to let the hot air escape while the AC is cooling down. I really didn't
think about this when I made my buying decision, but I far prefer the roll down rear
window to the flip up ones.

As far as the JBL is concerned I have the 10 speaker one and it is not worth the price
(I couldn't find a SE without it). I would have preferred to get the standard radio and
replace it with a aftermarket one, just like I have done in the last 5 cars I have owned.
A good radio CD player with a decent amp and speakers is about 1/2 the price of the JBL.
I have the rear seat option which is completely worthless.
