Which is the Best Repair Manual?

Honestly I don't know of a good repair manual. Serious though, fellow members can probably offer a good amount of know how for any technical problems, best part about it, its better then free because they are donating their time and knowledge, something way more valuable then any book you can find.

I Like haynes, i don't really consider it worthless, it walked me through my whole transmission swap

I have the Haynes and Chilton's on the shelf and haven't opened either one for years. I bought the FSM and EWD for my year and couldn't live with out them, plus a couple hundred bookmarked links piled up in 15 years of ownership.
Are you just replacing an engine or upgrading?

Its under the master sticky and although it doesn't state what Is the best manual, it does have a lot of good links.

I have a Haynes book, its alright.
Replacing an engine since its easier than doing a head gasket, 280k on it. So bummed, could have gotten into the 300k club.
I need it for torque specs and everything if I'm going to do this engine swap I'ma do it right.
Where can I get a FSM or EWD?

Yes. But it's a 2002, and no good for 4 cyls. , 5 speeds, vacuum ADD's, and abunch of other things. That's why I am glad I have my paper '99.
I use this link (for helping people on the forum, not for working on my '99 truck). It is still 2002, but the index works better and it includes the indispensable EWD.

I don't have access to Alldata, but I have seen some posts of their data and the Toyota stuff all seems to be exact reformats of the FSM. Am I wrong about this? I admit their BMW stuff is better than the Bentley manual, which is pretty much the BMW FSM.

I have Haynes and Chilton. Hardly touched the Chilton at all.
Also used the Toyota EWD and they are the bees knees. So I'd imagine the FSM us the best, but they're hard to get hands on one.
