Which mod should I do?

So I want to do one of these mods right now, but will probably eventually do both:

1. Replace front dome light with a LED dome light.

2. Replace orange turning signals on front of 4runner. Not the corners, but the ones that are in the bumper.

I did have a few questions about each one.

Which website has the best deal on LED dome lights? Are they too bright?

Is it legal to replace the original orange turning signals with clear ones? If I do replace them would I need to replace to bulb also? When you buy the replacement does it come with bulbs?

Or is there another mod for around the same price ($25)?

Front turn signals must be orange. If you put clear lenses in then you must use orange bulbs.

I have clear turn signals if your interested. Brand new. They came with me clear corners but they dont fit my tjm bumper. orange bulbs included! PM me if your interested.

I think clear lenes are legal because newer 3rd gens have them.

Stock bulbs are clear. You may want to get the platinum amber bulbs that look chrome but light up orange. US 3rd gens did not come with clear corner lenses from the factory, but I believe the Japan 3rd gens did.

I just saw a deal on ebay for clear corners and clear bumper lenses for like $42. That's a pretty good deal.

Do those platinum amber bulbs come in sizes for the clear corners and the bumper lenses? How much do they cost?

How much are bulbs that would replace the ones in the corners? What number are they? Can you pick them up at an autoparts store?

I have the clear signals but I've never changed out the stock clear bulbs but compared to the whiter light my Ultrastar headlmap bulbs puts out my signals almost look amber. I doubt cops will harass you about front signals.

Just about any auto parts store should stock the bulbs, 7440 iirc for the corners, and both the corner and bumper bulbs are common sizes. The chrome/platinum coated ones will probably be a little bit more but I havn't bought any in a while. And yeah that ebay deal is better than what I paid.

The only place that I have seen carry the chrome ones is JasonB. Anybody have another site for these? Anyone know the exact bulb number for corner and bumper bulbs?

So can I just go to an autozone type place and they will tell me exactly what I need?

Does anyone know the price of two bulbs?

The clear bumper lenses and clear corners are pretty easy to install right? Anybody have a right up? I'm pretty sure I know how to do the bumper ones (I think it's just two screws each).

I've never heard of a cop pulling anyone over for clear turn signals, they are to popular in car customization, and the bulbs don't have to be orange. I've seen green, red, blue, every color turn signals around here. For myself, I have superwhite turn signals on the front and rear, muich cleaner than amber IMO...

$17 a bulb I believe, but I got the ones with a magnified lens on the bulb. Check out www.eautoworks.com That's where I got them.

Not to step on your toes Brian, but you might want to check that out man. I know that Missouri and Louisiana the front must blink yellow and the rear can either be red or yellow. Those other colors can only be used for shows and things like that.

Cool. I'm hoping what I buy will come with at least some bumper bulbs. I might buy some chrome ones if the orange ones don't look right.

Evan: Thanks for the info. I wasn't planning on going with some crazy color, but it good to know that it is possible to get in trouble for them.
