Which one do I buy?

Ok guys, our 2000 Honda Civic finally died. Now is my chance to add a 3 rd Gen to our 03 SE V8. here are my top 2 options. Dont have much info on the white one, havent called the guy yet. The black has had timing belt/water pump done. I can get the black on for 8200 but have to travel 7 hrs. to pickup. The white one is 1-2 hrs away. Thanks for any input.

I'd buy that low mile white one in a heartbeat if it was me. Especially if it is really clean. Low miles are only meaningful if the vehicle looks, acts and smells like a "low mile" vehicle. Otherwise, on a 4Runner, you might as well get one with 150k.

just talked to the place with the white one. Guy is clueless, says "it rides and drives like it should". He doesnt know the fist thing about the truck, got it at auction, no maintenance records, tires are "OK" he says.

that being said, the carfax is posted on the listing. it looks pretty "clean".

Can I ask why you are inclined to purchase/find ONLY the MY01? I myself am partial to the 99/00 models just because you can find them with a manual transmission(Non-Limited that is) plus have the optional RR Diff button ie. Electronic Locking Rear Differential. Plus, they don't have the VSC/TRAC which I dislike.

A one to two hour drive to check out the white one is worth it in my opinion. I see nothing but years of driving on a runner with that few miles.

I am not limiting my choices to the MY01, it just so happens that these 2 trucks fall into my price range, without traveling TOO far that is. I dont know why but here in Erie there are VERY few 3 rd Gens ever for sale, either at dealers or by private parties. And....................I am in a crunch as the civic is no longer safe to drive, so I need to buy something ASAP.

i also saw the other white one with 137K. Not knowing much about 3rd Gen's I saw that the front and rear bumpers are painted black. To me that looks like something that was done by the owner? Maybe Im wrong, did they come white with painted black bumpers?

I spoke to the owner of the black one. I was the second highest bidder when the auction ended. He is waiting on the high bidder to let him know if he wants it. if he doest take it, he said I could have for 8200.

I am going to buy the white one on Tuesday, I still have a few more questions for the guy, like brake condition, tire tread depth etc, but for the miles at that price I can live without leather and a sunroof. However, I really DO NOT like the split spoke wheels, I guess that will be my first mod

Not a fan of the wood grain in the Limited, but def my favorite out of all of them posted. Super clean, low miles and the most features. Most of the other ones are too basic or high mileage in my opinion.

Well, the white truck was a total nightmare! The entire interior was a shade of grey/yellow from all the smoke. It smelled like a giant dirty ashtray. The power antenna was broken, the parking brake didnt work, there was gas leak from the tank/line, couldnt tell exactly where. There was rust forming in front of both rear tires.

Now I know why they are only asking 8995.
