About to pull the final trigger. Got my wheels picked out, just need some encouragement and info for wheels.

Looking for 285/70/17s and have narrowed it down to the following

Nitto Terra Grapplers

Hankook Dynapro ATM

Cooper Discoverer AT3

All within my price range; just not sure which is best. I live in CT so winters tend to be brutal at times. I have a 60 mile/day commute for work. Wheels and tires going on shortly after the lift.

Out of those three, I'd go with the Hankooks. I have them on my 4th gen and they have been pretty good in all conditions. I currently have over 60k miles on them and they still have decent tread left.

Have you considered the Goodyear Duratracs? They are snow rated and pull like a mud tire, but quiet like an all terrain. We've been running them on our truck for over a year and I love them.

I'm down in Madison and also have a 60 mile commute everyday. I'm currently running 285 duratracs which are great off-road but feel the snow performance can be really iffy depending on conditions. It's always a compromise. That said they did get us through numerous trips this winter to VT, MA, NH and ME without issue.

Although in July I'm hoping my commute drops to 0 mi, I think I'll be switching to 255s as mentioned above.
