Which weight ratio for my tires?

I am about to put GY Wrangler Duratrac's on my 2011 TE. Sized 265/70/17

Which tire should i get the "C" weight rated, or the "E""?

I use the vehicle for daily drive and light trail and mud on varied weekends.

I am not towing anything at this point. Just family and gear.

Recommendations?

Why C to E skipping D?

I am running D load Duratracs and carry a lot of crap in here, they are overkill. E loads are even more overkill.

I got myself C because load rating is good enough and C ties are lighter which is good for fuel consumption. However E tires have stronger sidewall and if were going to drive over lots of sharp rocks I would probably bought E. Just my opinion : )

I did not know the D existed. All I have seen in my size is the C (6 ply) and the E (10 Ply)...

For stock size, D doesn't exist, only C and E. the 285's come in D.

Sure does, and they follow right along with 8 ply. I am quite happy with mine.

I got the 265/70/17 C rated duratracs and am very pleased with them.

Essentially for the same reasons as scanny said, the C's are lighter so that helps with fuel economy. Plus I do not do a ton of towing. Wish I had a boat!!

If you stick with the stock size it sounds like the C might fit your needs.
