I have a '16 Limited with just short of 5,000 miles on it.
Within the last 100-200 miles, I have begun to notice a whining sound when I back out of my driveway. I start the car, put it in to R to back up, the driveway is flat, about 50 ft long, turn the wheel to enter the road (this is all 10mph or slower), stop, and then put the car into drive. When I get into drive, I feel the truck push against me (foot is firmly on brake), and I get a whining sound for about a second. It doesn't matter which direction the wheel is turned (left or right). But it won't make the sound if the wheel is straight.
When I drive around and the car gets warm, then go R, wheel turned, D, there is no sound whatsoever. Or if drive somewhere, park the 4R, then come back a short time later, back up, turn wheel, D, no sound.
It makes this sound every morning now.
I debated transmission, but not sure what could do that. I debated power steering pump, but when I was installing my intake, the fluid was fine for cold max.
Now, I searched the forum and found something from back in 2013, but there was no detail of a solution.
Any insight on this?
