White clock idea

Just throwing this idea out there. I just got a ride from my buddy in a 07 Toyota Matrix and saw the clock it has which is white. It looks like Toyota might have used similar parts in these so a retrofit might be possible.

I'm thinking that it may involve retrofitting the actual screen in our circuit board. I would give it a shot if I get my hands on one of these from a part out or something. Again just throwing an idea out there. Tell me what you guys think!

Before you get too involved in swapping them, see if the back light bulb has a green condom on it. It's something Toyota uses to give colored back light, they may also use a colored glass.

easier solution

My solution was a lot easier and cheaper ($12). I used a red and blue filter gels used in photography:
(Amazon.com: Cowboystudio Color Correction Gels - Set of 4 12x12 inches Gels: Camera & Photo)
To convert the green light of the clock, you need a purple tint. To produce this, you need a combination of the blue and red gels. Out of these gels i bought from amazon, I cut the blue and red (approx 1" x 2") gels to fit the front of the clock. I then opened the clock and inserted them inside. Wahlah, the green clock turned white! I will snap some pictures tomorrow and share them with you. I should have saved my leftover (you probably need less than 5% of the total gel sheets you get from Amazon) and shared them to you guys. Oh well.
The only drawback is that these gels will make your clock dimmer but it is really white!

I know everything about filters, and my issue is that they make the clock dimmer and it still has a little tint of purple. The clock From Toyota Matrix seems a little brighter than the T4R clock and is pure white. Thats the reason it caught my eye. And I like a challenge. If it works, good. If it doesn't, it's ok)
