White letters or black sidewall for Mag Grey TE.

Ok, so working it in to my deal to have the tires swapped on the TE when I take delivery of it. Just wanted to know if anyone on the board has put the white lettering facing out on a Trail Ed?

The color I'm getting is Mag Grey, so would appreciate pics if anyone has done this in that color?

My gut feeling, say's no to RWL facing out for this truck. I think RWL looks good on Trucks, FJ's, and Wranglers. But don't think it would look to good on the 4Runner.

Probably a reason Toyota picked tires without white lettering, it looks tacky. Plus you constantly need to clean the white :guitar3:.

In my vast collection of member's 5th Gen photos that I use to photo-shop custom looks I've only come across 2 T4R's with white side walls - one was a silver TE and the other was the LTD that IceNomad alluded to in the above post. I photo-shopped the letters off the silver TE because it just didn't look good to me!

Bottom line, it's gonna be your ride - do to it what you want to make it comfortable for you! :cheers:

I'm kinda thinking the white letters out look good on black 4 runners...

I think the BFG AT/KO (or MT)is the best looking RWL tire with its' big bold letters. These tires usually make any rig look good. I have to admit that after they were put on I think I prefer the black walls out. This is what I run for the winter and may put RWL in next winter.

I thought raised white letter tires died in the 70's with Members Only jackets, gold plated aviator sunglasses, finger less "driving gloves".

I say show the letters. I think I like 'em because they were cool when I was younger. Who cares if you are a rolling billboard if it is a look you prefer? I am proud to have BFG tires versus those crappy stock tires. I like the contrast of the white on the black tire and black 4runner, and I think it makes 'em look bigger. If mine was Blizzard Pearl or silver, I would probably go white letters in.

Also, look at you wives/girlfriends. Notice any of them sporting stockings and moon boots again? Old school is coming back!

I do agree that stealth is cool though. To each his own. Whatever. Go Gamecocks!
