When I run my ac and it is set to fresh air and not cabin air sometimes I get whitish smoke from the vents but it doesn't smell like anything. If I switch to cabin air it goes away. I was thinking just water vapor from the high humidity here in NC but it seems odd. Are there filters on the ac system in these trucks or cabin filters even or is it just open tube?

I am still thinking condensation but it is weird it does it mid way through my trip to work and then stops again. The other weird thing I have been meaning to look at is the skid plate was pretty clean but had one hole in it. I removed the plate and tossed it and plan to get an aftermarket one or none but the ac condensation now just comes out all over the suspension. I am betting the drain hose is missing or something like that. It looks like it dripped in that one area of the skid plate for a long time since this was an AZ truck.

Do you have issues with your AC? not cooling?
Your heater? Losing coolant?
If not, I'm sure it's just from humidity; You should see how it looks first time AC is turned on inside a plane is Asia- LOL!
No need to bet, Crawl under there. Our trucks have good high clearance imakes it easy to check things anytime we need to; No need for a creeper of a jack (at least for my 135-pound frame-LOL!). On the first-gen, the hose it too short, the condensation drips on the swaybar. I'll replace mine with slightly longer one.

To add to this ...
My drain hose was clogged with gunk causing the condensation to back up into the cab. Easy fix - pull the hose off - clean out the gunk - put hose back on.
Being here in the Mid-Atlantic when the air is very humid (like today) I to have what looks like white smoke (condensation) coming out of the vents when the a/c is on max air. Nothing to worry about. Just means it's working.
You can also put the a/c to max air and hold a thermometer up to the vents. Mine will read 38 degrees. Nice and cool!

38°. Dayumn that's cold! Also depends on outside temp.
A good practical test for how well you AC functions is:
1) Measure air at inlet, where blower sucks cabin air in.
2) Measure air at outlet vent.
3) Outlet should be approx 15°F-20°F than inlet.
BTW, Anyone knows of a good AC shop in San Diego that converts R-12 system to newer more environmentally friendly R-134 refrigerant?
