I see that alot of you have painted your wheels black, and I realize it's the in thing....has anyone painted their wheels white or have any thoughts on how that might look?

heard dat! your 4runner is really good looking by the way, i was so focused on convincing you not to do the white rims i forgot to tell you how nice it looks already.

Thank you all for your nice compliments. I bought this 4runner new in July 2001. I had the Supercharger and TRD exhaust system installed when she had just a few hundred miles. Originally when I went in I wanted to order the sport exhaust system - i had no intent of ordering a supercharger and didn't even know one existed. I had $$ at the time and in summer 01 premium fuel was about $1.00 - $1.05 a gallon so I said what they heyride slap that baby in there! Thunder Cloud was not my first color choice, I wanted the Glacier Metallic but there was not 1 of them in the Southeast so I got the Thunder Cloud. It's a nice color and hides dirt well! Here is a pic of the SC and then I'll add one of the interior.

Here is a photo of the interior. It's stock Limited interior with a hard wired radar detector sitting in between the steering wheel and the gauge cluster.

My climate control lights are blown and there are 2 small tears in the driver seat leather, other than that everything else real nice, i'm even still using the original floor mats.

Oh and that thing on the A pillar is the Supercharger boost guage, it came with the SC kit and shows the vacuum and the boost and lights at night to match the other guages, a dim green.

That's one clean runner. I agree with the others, leave it just the way it is. Maybe some small mods here and there, but overall, I wouldn't touch it. BTW, that particular 2 tone color is very unique. Not many limiteds were offered in that combo.

You said you've owned it since new? Wow. Props to you for keeping it in such great condition for the past 8yrs! :bigok: It looks great.

Oh and since you've had the SC since day one, did you have any additional tranny work done to handle the extra power or is all stock?

Thank you...I have kept up on all of the regular recommended maintenace and never driven it real hard, one thing weird about my 4runner....it is just shy of 85K miles now and I am on the all original brakes. 3rd set of tires, 3rd battery, the steering wheel leather is showing a bit of wear, yet i'm still using the brakes the truck came with!!! I do not even know how it's even possible but it's true.

I did not do any extra transmission mods just the Supercharger kit which included that boost guage, and the TRD exhaust system. I had it all installed at the dealer so whatever was included with the kit is what is there. My tranny does have one weird quirk, I'm not sure if you or anyone else experiences this, and I don't know if it is related to the SC....but when starting up, for the first minute or two the engine revs a bit high, but then it runs perfectly normal. This has always been the case with my T4R it is not something that just started happening. I always figured it just does that until it warms up but I don't know.

I think it's normal. When cold, my T4R will stay in 2nd gear until the revs reach 2500 or so, depending on if I'm accelerating hard or just cruising. After 30 seconds or so, it'll shift into 3rd and 4th...and from there it warms up quickly.

agreed, mine does it too. it must be normal or there might have to be a massive underlying tranny prob that toyota didnt address(but i doubt that)

You can take a picture of it in a side profile, and change the wheel colors in Paint or Photoshop (preferably) until you find something you like.

Awesome truck. My interior looks just like yours (when clean, I haven't cleaned it in over a month...) minus the boost gauge. LUCKY!

How do you like the sound of the TRD exhaust? What's yours look like? I wonder if the design hasn't changed since 2001. I just got mine yesterday and still haven't installed it but am very anxious to have it on

At 130k I am on my fourth (!) set of front rotors/pads but still on original rear shoes/drums
