Whitson Roof Rack

I feel I need to make a statement about Josh with Whitson Metal Works. I started to talk to Josh back in february about a roof rack for my 98 4runner. I fell in love with it when i saw the build thread for the "Dirt Duster". Josh was quick to respond and very courteous and direct in his emails. He allowed me to send a deposit to start the build and I proceeded to wait in excitement for my rack. With some delays out of mine and Josh's control my rack was put on hold. Josh pulled through for me and got my rack to me and I finally got it home yesterday. All I can say is WOW!!!!! Its amazing, the quality, construction and design. I have been on numerous forums for numerous hobbies and I have to say Josh is the most pleasant guy to work with. He makes a solid product and DEFINITELY knows how to treat his customers. Sorry for the long story but I feel that people like Josh need to receive credit when its due. It seems a lot of people on this forum are great people and look forward to dealing with more of them.

And i'm sure he appreciates it. I'm glad to hear he finished up yours. I know he put them all on hold and stopped taking orders. I just want to wish him good luck with what he is going through and I know I definitely want one when when/if he starts producing them again. Definitely one of the best hyper products out there IMO. :trophy:

I agree!! I already told him I will be upgrading to a 4th or 5th gen in the future and want a rack on one of those. Ill get pics up when I get it back from the powder coater at the end of the week.

THANKS BRIAN!! Always happy to hear from happy customers. I'm slowly getting a bead on things here and am almost caught up and to a point where I can think about new orders. My wife is 7 months along right now and all the things that need to get done in order for a baby to survive around here have yet to be done lol. I wish there was a way I could get racks to everyone who wants one but being a one-man show and having a "real" job to go to as well, AND having a baby on the way is flat out tough. Get that thing coated and post some pics!

Oh man, I didn't know your situation. I know I've PM'ed you recently, but take your time, geesh! Hopefully your little one will be easy (NOT a Tantrum thrower, sleep fighter, screamer/cryer) and you can get some welding/fabbing done. I know I will be on that rack list when your life realigns and you get back to the workshop.

Would you ever consider hiring an employee? Like teaching an apprentice how to weld and assist you? I would almost be willing to move to the gulf of Mexico!

Oh trust me, I hear you. Your roof racks look fantastic so I can see the perfectionist thing. Glad to hear your doing well. I say get what you can get done within the first couple months of your child's existence. They only get more challenging/laborious as they get older. Good luck and congrats on the little one!
