Who has a block heater

That looks awesome! It has been pretty cold here in CO. For $50 it seems like a good deal. Unfortunately, most of the time where I live, it stays mostly around 30 degrees...So not really cold enough to justify a block heater. If I moved to the mountains, I would definitely install one.

If you're going to use a block heater, remember to plug it in when you shut your truck off - they are much more effective at keeping the engine warm than they are at heating it from freezing temps

Had a block heater in my 03 Limited that ran 5W30 Mobil 1 full synthetic oil. Plugged in the block heater when we hit -20C or colder in the winter.

My new-to-me 2011 Limited also has a block heater and will have 0W20 Mobil 1 full synthetic oil added when I do the oil change in the fall. That combination should give me easy winter starts.

I live in Quebec and I have a 2010 sr5 never plug it in ! By -35 c it's start like a charm ! Don't even bother about it !

I am SO glad I don't have to deal with that kind of cold.
