379,473. Alternator went out some time ago, all rubber bushings replaced, not much else.

Isn't your 4Runner also modified, and is frequently used on tough 4wd trails? That's even more impressive than most 4Runners that mostly just run on the Highway.

2014 SR5 purchased new in September 2014. Miles have slowed down as I bought my wife a 2023 ORP. Also had two months waiting last fall before we swapped transmissions. Currently in SoCal and delayed returning to Montana as my wife had issues with her second cataract surgery (lens connective tissue was weak and would not hold the implant lens) which required a second surgery and a much more lengthy recovery process. Once that is done, it will head back to Montana.

Transmission was just wear. It made it 365K miles. $800 for a salvage replacement was a steal. $1,085 to remove old and install replacement was a steal, plus I got the leaking rear main seal replaced.

Where did you get your seat foam?

How's the new trans ben? How many miles are you up to now?

Yep. She's hefty with a curb weight of close to 6k with all the armor and mods. Been on 34 and 35" mud tires for all but the first 7000 miles. 4.56 gears and front locker. I'm local to Moab, and do all of the trails below Pritchet level. Also spend tons of miles on washboard dirt roads in the desert that are probably just as hard on it.

Other than cracked fenders from the washboard roads with KDSS (before I removed it), haven't had to fix much. Bushings, wheel bearings, seals, a front pinyon bearing, valve cover gaskets.

Yeah I will go with OEM control arms.

Good choice. IIRC, I replaced my lowers at somewhere around 300k miles, when one of the bushings tore out.

Would recommend you order the through bolts and adjusters along with the arms. I actually pulled my bolts out at around 100k miles and coated them with bearing grease, to try to avoid having to cut them out later. I still had to sawzall them out, and I live in a no rust desert, but they were still seized solid. 1 diablo blade cut all 4 of my bolts.

Wow even with grease they rusted. How difficult of a job are the lowers?

We’ve stalled here putting on miles on the 2014. Ran into the rear window issue where it won’t go all the way up. It’s parked in the garage at our Montana home while waiting for the ordered regulator sub-assembly to arrive. We are adding a 2nd garage to this home and they just finished pouring the concrete foundations and slab work. The old garage got new apron in front of it and there are drain grates all the way across. Can’t drive on the concrete for another week, so the 2014 is stuck in that garage with the rear liftgate disassembled, while waiting for the part to arrive. In the interim, wife is driving her 2023 ORP and I am driving my ‘99 K2500 Suburban with fresh 6.5 Optimizer diesel.
