If it's not too late, take them to Sedona by way of Schnebly Hill Road, great scenery if you go from the top down to Sedona.

Across state trails
Last weekend I headed up to a hs friend's place who now live is Wisconsin. Well, he is a huge outdoor motor sports guy. He's got a tricked out crawler tacoma, BMW dual sport bike, snow mobiles, etc. We got to talking and he and the wife have done some pretty amazing rides on the bikes across multiple states.
Upon further convo, he told me about a website called backcountrydiscoveryroutes.Com and they have routes that run from border to border for about 10 states here out west. AZ happens to be one of them and it runs from south to north for about 700 to 800 miles. My friend hasn't done this one, but has done 3 others and says it usually takes on average 4 days.
I've been tossing around the idea of buying the map for the AZ trail to check it out. I've looked at the map on website for AZ and it looks pretty tame and very manageable in a stock runner. Wondering if anyone has ever did something like this for AZ or ever been interested.

I was thinking this would be a great run come end of october. I'd love to do the whole thing, but not sure my wife could handle it. Plus, we would probably be staying in hotels each night...not by my choice. I'd love to get a group of people to make the run though, schedules permitting.

The first one is probably polarity specific. I believe the second one is not. What that means is that you have to put them in in the correct orientation otherwise they don't work. Other than that, I can't comment on how good one is compared to the other or if the lumens match up...

it depends. the trail actually starts in Mexico and is supposed to go all the way up to the border of Canada. From what I can gather it's a bunch of different trails interconnected via normal roadways. Parts are still "under construction" supposedly. I think hotels might be out of the question for some of it if you plan on driving the whole thing. I am pretty sure that part of the trail system going north out of Box Canyon heading to the US-60 is part of the trail as well.

My buddy has done about 3 or 4 of the state's and says they take about 3-4 days to complete each state. I would never try doing the Mexico to Canada trip without trying some individual trails first.
I was wanting to run the AZ trail, which I'm guessing, would take 4 days give or take. It appears a lot of it is service/fire roads, with some mix inbetween. Check it out at Arizona Backcountry Discovery Route (AZBDR)
