It will be interesting to see how he does in the NFL. I agree with Thai that they usually struggle (running QBs). I think what may be different about Vince is that when he runs, he does it to win. He doesn't run just b/c he doesn't know what else to do. He runs to take over a game. If you'll notice last night, he can wait, go through progressions and deliver the ball with accuracy. Canon arm doesn't always compensate for making good decisions and delivering the ball on time and accuratley. If I'm not mistaken he was 30 of 40 last night. Not too shabby for any QB in a national championship game.

All eyes were on Reggie Bush last night. Meanwhile, he only ran for 80 yards and even fumbled. I honestly don't think many people would have predicted Vince Young to outshine Reggie Bush. I agree that those type of QB's may not succeed in the NFL, but a QB rushing for 201 yards and passing for 267 yards is definitely something special. I actually can't wait to see how he does in the NFL. I always thought Michael Vick was overrated though! :

Running quarterbacks will continue to have a Mike Vick type of career since those types don't have the durability to last in the NFL. Kordell Stewart is another good example of it.

I was glad to see Texas win that one. Especially after seeing Matt Leinart pitch his little fit on the sidelines after they reviewed the play where he had been intercepted. Then to top it off, his little comment after the game saying he thought they were still the better team...........what?.........wouldn't the better team win.........I have been out of football for a while, but I think the team that scores the most points, is usually the better team......If football is like horse shoes, then he has an argument, but then again, Notre Dame does as well.

A local talk show personality said it best, "Matt Leinart needs to just wipe the snot from his nose and learn the true meaning of sportsmanship".

Yes he is a great quarterback and lead his team to back-to-back championships, but when you act like that it negates everything in my book.

This is where i am a little confused. Matt is a good quarterback, but i don't put him in the same league with the likes of John Elway, Carson Palmer, etc..

If you look at the way he throws, then you will see that he does lock onto receivers a lot! The endzone interception shows this clearly. I don't think that he is as "developed" as some say despite being in a good offense...the pro game will eat him alive! In addition, his accuracy is clearly lacking on most of his throws in the game. His arm strength has not impress me.

I guess that it just took a good defense to bring out his faults.
