This over-priced gas hog made you think of me? Awww, how nice! lol Yea, I am getting a 4runner. I actually posted a trade offer here on t4r too to see if that is an option for me. I didn't get one call this weekend about my SUV. :pray:

And yea man, I can't figure out why people get giant jacked up trucks that they don't/can't do anything with. It's like that Tahoe we saved over the weekend, it had like a 8" lift and giant tires and was just for show. And sure enough, the one time he takes it offroad his CV and ball joints all explode (on what could barely be called a trail) from being jacked so high and not being truly built.

One of my buddies rule's of thumb is that you can only jack as high as your junk is long, otherwise you have a serious disorder... :D
 
this truck is in hawaii...thing is a beast..
honestly thats the "style" we grew up seeing. huge lifted trucks wide rims no off road performance at all lol. ..all for "show" when they go on annual truck cruises

I see trucks lifted like that on the road every day. It really is the Hawaiian "style" lift. It isn't functional and is overpriced but the look does appeal to some.

I live in south Alabama :puke: and this is pretty common here, too. Usually with GM/Ford/Dodge trucks. 37"+ tires, 20"+ wheels, as much body lift as possible, then lift blocks, maybe some new front springs or shocks. Straight pipes, no gearing, fancy head/tail lights, a whip antenna (no CB), and a flimsy brush guard, and a stereo worth as much as the truck. Pretty commonly, no front driveshaft because, as was said, factory cv axles tend to snap with that much angle and tire weight. Just as long as it says Z71 or FX4 on the side then people drool all over it.

As said before. It is common to see this anymore. So-Cal is horrid for it. I can't count the 2500HD's with the DuraMax's I see like this. Same with the F-350's in SO-Cal running at least 35's and up with stupid crazy body lifts, Little to no suspension work(or if it is worked it is extreme). The best part I like is if you ask them to do a trail run on even a fire road they will pass on that. Only dirt it will see is the parking area to the local dirt bike area's if that even while pulling something like this that is 40 ft long.

When I was in Maui last year, I swear 1 in 4 vehicles (that werent rentals) were either a Tacoma, 4runner, GX, or Land Cruiser...They are obsessed with their Toyota BOFs out there. And alot of them had those weird low offset wheels that stuck out way far, almost like the truck version of low rider wheels.
 
We actually have whole OEM dealerships that have 100's of these type of vehicles brand new. It is a big business.
 
What is it you guys are all worked up about here? That he spent some money to make his truck look how he liked?

Because we've got entire forum full of guys who do that, right here. The only difference is what aesthetic they're going for.
