I suggest you visit www.autopia.org and you will find lot's of info there.
I've been detailing car's for a long time. My suggestion would be to look at other product's than Zaino.

I'm not saying "Z" is a bad product , but there are lot's of nice stuff out there's cheaper and better IMO. Z is way to complicated of a system at first. I don't need to be mixing ZFX with this and the other BS.
check into stuff like Clearkote , Poorboys , Finish care (FK1) , are all nice boutique product's.
Once again check out Autopia.org and you can search there and see ton's of stuff. Everyone has different taste so result's have to be to your liking since it's on your truck.

Back to your original question, I'd suggest the clay bar, Z-2 Pro with ZFX, Z-8 grand finale finish, and Z-6 for washes between Zaino applications.
Personally, I'm happy with their products. But, as you've seen on this thread (and the others you've found when you searched), it really is up to your own opinion based on your experiences and needs.

Bare bones all you really need is Z-2 or Z-2 Pro and ZFX. Clay bar cleans the paint before application of wax but you don't absolutely have to do this step. If you have a dark colored rig and swirls show then you can get Z-5 or Z-5 Pro to hide the swirls then apply Z-2 product. Z-6 is for when you wash and don't wax or just for touch-up. If you're really going for the showroom finish then you can add a coat of the Z-8.
"Z" did have the best durabilty at one time , probably still does , but with new acrilyc's on the market there competition is tough. Also Zaino is not a wax.
If that's what your set on go for it and follow what the "Z" guy's are telling you to do.

I have not Zainoed the 4Runner yet. I have used it exclusively on my black Infiniti G35. I can tell you it looks great on that vehicle and the Z-5 product really hides the swirls (the G is now three years old). I do a coat or two of Z-5 and then a coat or two of Z-2 and it looks fantastic. That usually lasts at least a month or longer depending on the weather. If I don't wax I use the Z-6 after the wash and in between if it's not too dirty. I have not had a chance to try any of the "pro" products.
I will do the 4Runner soon. Until recently my wife had been using the 4Runner as her primary vehicle and I didn't care that much (it was a truck). However, the addition of a dog to our family, my job allowing me to handle the home duties and now shuttling our two boys everywhere, I've kind of taken over the 4Runner so I'm more inclined to Zaino it now.
You are right about the many products available these days. One might also look at properautocare.com for other suggestions. The thing I really like about Zaino besides the shine and ease of use is it does not leave white residue on the trim.
I'm looking forward to trying it on the 4Runner but I do dread the initial stripping of wax (Dawn liquid) and clay bar step. Plus it's just a bigger auto to do. Results are always a good reward though.

I also swore I wouldn't mod the 4R like I've done with all my other cars since I wasn't the primary driver. Well, er, here I am at this site.P.S. You're right about Zaino lasting longer too. It's probably closer to six-eight weeks but I didn't want to argue.
