Will it FIT with a lift and baja rack in the Garage?

The 2.0" OW vs 2.5" OW thread is awesome. I spoke with Andries and was initially going to go with the 2.0, but now think I will just spend the extra $500 for the 2.5"

Anyway - Will it fit in my garage. I have a Baja Rack on order and going to get the 2.5"OW lift.

My garage is 80.5 inches to the "weather strip" on the top of the garage and 81.0 to the actual stucco.

My stock 4runner, from the top of the current roof rack (above the 2nd row seat - front of the rack) to the weather strip is 9.0 inches. (I think this means my stock height from ground to roof rack (above the 2nd row seat) is 72 inches.

It is my understanding the Baja Rack is 5 inches (is this correct?) from the roof to the top of the rack, and if I go 2.5 inches lift, I should be good? - 1.5 inches to spare? 9-7.5.

If I put on the lift and I get it home and it doesn't fit, my wife will have me sleeping outside with the dog.

Anyone else have a garage height issue, how did you deal with it?

The basket is 5 inches that doesn't include the mount I believe I read somewhere that is is 7 1/2 inches from the roof is the total height of the basket don't quote me on that one. But if what I read is true your going to gain about 3 1/2 to 4 inches taller then the factory rack. In my Garage with my lift and 33's I have about 6 inches of clearance still but this is on a trail and the racks are a little taller not sure what you have?

It should just fit. I think my total truck height with rack is around 6 and a half feet. I'm 6.3 and it's just a few inches taller than me. My garage door opened height is about 7 ft. It has about 3-6 inches of clearance. You should be ok.

I might be selling my Baja rack here shortly, they are in the process of creating a flat utility style full length rack.

Don't have a 5th gen but I do have the OW 2.5 suspension with a BajaRack.

My garage door entrance height is 7ft and I fit with about a 1 to 1.5 inches to spare.

But you have a 80.5 inch entry which is only 6.71 feet so it might be a little tight.

What size tires are you running and what kind? MT or AT?

Baja Rack is definitely 6.5" above the roof of the truck. Just confirming that. You may want to consider the possibility of what you will have on that Baja Rack as well...such as Hi lift jack, additional crossbars like I have, or a spare tire, or whatever else you might put up there on a semi-permanent basis...

My garage is about 80" at its lowest point, and my truck is about 77 or 78" high with Baja Rack and 275/70/17 BFG ATKOs. So, if I were to get a lift and bigger tires, I would be cutting it REAL close.

As mentioned before, you have to consider the diameter of your new tires after you get your lift too. If you go with 285s, I think those are about 1.2" taller than the stock 265s, and I don't know if these online tire calculators take into account the extra tread on a MT or AT tire. If you go with 305s, then you are over 2" higher than stock.

Also, make SURE you measure the LOWEST point when you garage door is open. The lowest point on mine is NOT the weather stripping. It is where the metal arm comes down...the one that is hooked to the chain to pull the door open and push it closed.

I just measured my truck with my lift and 285's I am at 77 inches my garage is 82 so I am only going to have about 2 inches to spare if your garage is only 80 it might be close.

When the garage door is open, my metal arm is NOT the lowest point any more. It is 16 inches above the roof of the SR5.

So I re-did my measurements from my roof, not my roof rack. My roof (back by the XM antenna) to the weatherstripping is 10.75 inches. I need 6.5 from the roof to the top of the baja rack. Which leaves me with 4.25. the 2.5" OW lift will add, at most 3", so I should be good by 1.25 inches. So no new tires for me it looks like.

I am going to add the Baja Rack first, come back, measure and then see about the lift.

Going from a 265 to a 285 is only going to raise it 1/2 an inch so if you have should have enough room I would lift it and do tires then measure for the rack if it were me. Or you could just level it and go 275's and do the baja rack is always another route?

My garage opening is 84". My 4runner with rack is about 80-81" at it's highest point.

Tire size calculators online say it is a gain in diameter of just over an inch...how did you come up with 1/2-inch gain? Did you do actual measurements on your tires and your stock tires? If you did actual measurements, it will be important to note the inaccuracy of online tire size calculators. Or are TE stock tires a different profile ratio than 70? Not hatin'...just want to make sure the info is accurate for this guy and others.

Got the rack, still waiting on the lift. My wife says I need to buy Christmas presents for my kids before I spend anymore money on myself. UGH.

The top of the rack to the garage door is 4 inches. So it looks like I will be good by an inch.
