Window vents

I bought the stick on ones but haven’t the nerve to put them on.
I know my ADD.. if not straight I’ll go nuts.
I’m not sure about the hood one. I don’t really like it all that much.
I’ll get them on soon or pay someone to do it. The ADD is strong on that

If you like rusty rock chips on your hood then by all means dont install it. :biggrin1:

would you be able to measure how far out they cover? outward from the window? been trying to find that info but had no luck.

Between the glass & the plastic is about 2 inches.

I would steer clear of clear Bra. Why, it will get cloudy and you'll want to take it off.

I think that's a fair point. I've had mine on for over 6 years now. It has faded a bit, but it's only noticeable if you're real close. I think the color it is on will have a big determining factor on how much any cloudiness stands out. To me a little bit of cloudiness that I only see when close is far better than a giant black plastic strip across the front. But again, that's just my personal preference. I also think my preference has a lot to do with the fact that I already have a big black tube front bumper on it. I feel like with the bug guard and the bumper, there would be too much competing black on the front. I'm actually leaning towards swapping it out for a plate front and paint matching it.

I guess tint shop was correct saying advances in material was better! Good that it's holding up. If you do decide to remove it one thing you'll notice is the difference in color of your paint. What was under bra vs not will be a shade different, on the G35 I had to cut n buff to not notice it, wasn't being OCD about it either. Going bug shield talking to wrap place about color match, pick out the shield I like be done.

dang, thats not very much. thanks though! really appreciate it.

The JDM market had big doofy ones but if they're too big they catch wind & make noise. Check out the Hilux Surf ones if you want bigger. The slide in ones are even more streamlined than the AVS brand. The AVS ones are perfect if you smoke & want to flick ashes without letting rain or snow in.

For sure. Also not too worried about the paint color difference. I removed the badges on the rear hatch and there was definitely some color difference. Didn't take much effort to get it back to match.

And if I'm understanding you right, you are looking to get your bug shield wrapped?

Just installed the stick on AVS and love them. I had the window Chanel ones in past and hated them. Car is a lot cooler in summer and no rain

hey i really want a set of Hilux vents but they are expencive. I dont smoke but would like to be able to roll the window down about 6" in the rain and talk with people.

Toyota has way better paint than any Nissan product.

Yes on the wrap, they dont see a problem with it though they haven't done one.
They explained the process they'll use to have best success sounds good give it a shot.
I had one that was painted was nice didn't last, like you I'm not a fan of black blob.

The AVS stick-on ones seem popular and they stay put.

why don't you make a mounting template then you will be worry free :) id skip the front one personally
This^^^

Or, just:
1) Peel the backing of the adhesive only a little bit from either end,
2) pull them up and out and flat against adhesive foam to form pull-tabs,
3) Position shade with light pressure and make sure it's where you want it,
4) Pull backing off as you lightly push the adhesive on to the door.

I've got the AVS in channel ones and they are about 1" out from the window. It's enough to keep the rain out with the windows down a couple of inches in most conditions. I do hate the gritty sound the windows make on them when rolling up.

They are dead sexy & 4runners look better with them and the hood rock guard. Otherwise the rain rolls right into your window. The ones on my 3RZ have been on there for 18 years. They go on super easy. No reason to take them off.
Every car I've owned since 1999 gets them. AVS brand that is.

Thanks, those are from a 2014 4Runner Trail Edition. The interior paint is a metallic grey but I think the new one's (17-18) are black.

can you get some upclose side shots to show how far off the window they go?

Sorry it took me this long. It did in fact rain the night I wanted to, so I couldn't get around to them until last night.

I finally did it and didn’t freak out. Hope they look ok.
At least they are even.
I did a video too.
Why does it flip the pic. Sorry
