Just pulled the trigger on rain guards made by Wade. They are "in channel" and supposedly just as good as Weathertech but at only $58. Was thinking of looking for Hilux Surf (not easy) but those are HUGE. Lets see how this pans out.

Im gonna cast my vote for in channel. I gots the weather techs on the 2016 and the avs on the 2000. We havent had or noticed any problems with either. The avs did crack in the winter with a quick whaap with a snow brush or ice scrapper. to bad you cant order just one.

That's what I've got on mine. Been on for almost 10 years with no issues. Occasionally it will force the auto window to go back down when they're rolling up, but it's only happen a handful of times in that 10 years. Definitely not enough to be an issue for me.
