Windshield rattle?

Less then a week into owning my NEW 4Runner; hit hard from behind while stoped a light.
...
Ever since, the window makes noise over bimps and when the wipers are on. off to the body-shop with instructions to re-attached the windshield.

How are modern windshields attached.....glue only?

Ouch :( sorry to hear that...

I think they are mostly held in just by the rubber gasket holding onto both the glass and the car body, though there may be some sealent put on to prevent leaks. The impact may have caused a corner to pop out or something, though I bet you'd be able to see that if it had...

There is a 4Runner TSB View attachment 36891417-T-SB-0141-10 (1).pdf for the windshield ticking/rattle noise and has to do with the stoppers at the top and was from a couple of years ago.(2010 and 2011's).

The windshield is held in place by a thick adhesive so not likely it could come loose as you need piano wire to get it out but maybe these stoppers did,as they do describe it as a rattle in the TSB. The stoppers basically locate it I believe.Maybe they can replace the windshield if it's definitely coming from there and not in the dash or moonroof ,that are known for rattles too.
