Windshield washer functions controls are backwards

Hey guys.. I'm still new to my 4runner since I've only had it for 2 months. I noticed this morning that my windshield (both front and rear) washer functions controls on the steering wheel are backwards. I think the previous owner might have had some work done it and the mechanic must've reconnected it backwards. But this is what is happening:

1. Pulling the stick on the steeling column back towards you activates the rear windshield washer but not the rear wiper blade rather than front wiper blades.
2. Turning the switch, which normally activates the rear windshield washer actually activates the front windshield washer. This also activates the rear washer blade.

So it appears like the functions to activate the front and rear blades are as expected. But the functions to activate the front and rear washer's are reversed. Is this a simple wiring problem fix? If so, what do I do to fix it?

What year T4R?
"I think the previous owner might have had some work done it and the mechanic must've reconnected it backwards." Not knowing what work was done doesn't help troubleshoot.
I've had my 4th Gen wiper/washer switch apart. I doubt it's in that switch or the connectors because of the complexity so here's my wild guess. Not sure if there are 2 individual washer pumps but I'm guessing there are and they are located close to each other. They possibly connected the wiring backwards to the 2 pumps? Check under the hood and see if you can reconnect each pump to the other pumps wiring, if in fact there are 2 pumps. The 4th Gen has one assembly and connector so they avoid this misfit for the wiring. Let us know what you find.

I'm only assuming there are 2. Check around the bottom of the washer fluid container.

Maybe others with a 3rd Gen can help with the FSM or pics?

Thank you for the information! I took a peak under my car last night and I see the motors. I also see the washer tank behind some sort of under cover. I don't see where the electrical connections are going into each motor. I do however have access to the tubes going into each respective washer motor. Perhaps since I have access to that, I could simply switch the tubes which should solve the issue.

Good thinking. May not be electrical after all. Maybe whoever put it back together in the past put the tubes on wrong? Give it a shot.
But the question is why did this happen? Did they break the original container in an accident and need front end collison work?
