Windshield Wiper De-Icer

So I've been finally reading my owners manual and I noticed the section on the Wiper De-Icer feature. I don't have the button to the left of the steering wheel that turns on the feature so that obviously means I don't have it.

What puzzles me is when I look on the Toyota website under Features and Specs it clearly states that this feature comes Standard on a 2011 SR5 4X4 which is exactly what I have.

Was this a mid-model year addition or something? Feel like I was cheated a little bit here. Not a huge deal but would have been nice in the MidWest winters.

Windshield De-icer

It is all the way to the left and sort of hard to see, but it is standard on the SR-5. If not take it up with the dealer.

There's a thread where another poster said his didn't come with one either. I think he even posted his window sticker

It has been 'False Advertising' since they came out in 10'. My brochure & the web said my SR5 would have it as well, it does not. All in all not a huge deal, but still annoys me that have not changed it in the last 2 years. Unless I have missed it here I have not seen one SR5 with the deicer (not including the Canadian version).

Mine has it but noticed other SR5s on lot did not. Will come in handy I think on days the trucks sits out in ice/snow storms while parked outside at work.

I don't have wiper de-icer either Toyota website lists windshield wiper de-icer as a standard feature on 2011 SR5 4x4 4.0L V6. I'm screwed!

It wasn't standard on the 2010 SR5, but it became standard on the 2011 SR5.

De-icer on SR5 FTW here. Used this morning and I forgot to turn it off (not sure if it has a auto off). 5 minutes later it was still on and when I turned the wipers there was steam coming from them.

Funny that Canadian SR5 has de-icer but doesn't have 110v outlet. At least for 2010.

I have a stock 2011 SR5 4X2 and I have the de icer.

Maybe your truck was built on a Friday evening just before they clocked out and they forgot to put the switch in. LOL

You can see the heat strips or whatever they are called in the windshield. The go along the outer edge and bottom.

Thanks everyone for responding. It seems the results are mixed. Several SR5's have it and several do not.

The fact that I read the spec list before buying a SR5 and expected my truck to have this feature pi$$es me off more than it probably should.

Toyota, I love my 4-Runner but you need to fix your spec sheet.

I also noticed in another thread that this guy thinks Toyota just linked the Wiper De-Icer into the regular rear/mirror de-icer button: I'll have to try this.
