Windshield wiper defrost?

It is an 11, SR5 4x4. Wind shield, has been replaced and...... my glass guy installed a windshield with the wiper defrost option. Told him it did not have it and he said, the plug is there. I physically helped him and plugged the connector together myself. My runner did not come with that option. My thought is if the engine compartment wiring harness has the connector, why would not the cabin side have it? I checked the fuse box. There is no fuse, however, spade connectors are visible.

So, having stated all of this, would it be possible to add a harness if cannot locate the cabin side harness?

High current accessories, such as wiper heaters, always use a relay, so check to see if you have the relay. Best way to proceed is to get the wiring diagram for the wiper heater system, then do continuity checks from the existing wiring plug, relay, power source and the switch location.

Don't know if they have changed anything between years, but my 2018 4Runner has the switch for the wiper heaters on the panel to the left of the steering wheel.

Hello and thanks for the information.
One thing that I should have said, Mine did not have the wiper defrost option.
I bought a switch hoping there was a plug under the dash, still have not located it, since there was one in the engine compartment for the windshield.

Please check for any weird miracles such as them working when wired into the rear defrosters.

Even if it’s an incomplete circuit, there has to be an “other end” of the wire.

it's probably there all taped up. I'm pretty sure I have a plug for the parking sensors in mine that is unused. did you try popping the lower trim piece off and really getting a good inspection in there?

I have the heated windshield option and I'm almost certain it's bundled with the main wiring harness - I was just in that panel this weekend installing a trailer brake controller
