Wired HDH Group Buy (maybe)

Alright guys, I was in contact with Patrick over at Wired HDH talking
about their new switch panel today. I'm sure most of you guys have seen it.

Here is the switch panel on their site:

Here is a bunch of videos about the product:
WIRED HDH, HEAVY DUTY AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS, COLORADO | VIDEOS

Anyway he mentioned that they have the ability to do a group buy if we can get 5 people together (no max...**cough** Console Vault **cough**. Here's the kicker, the GB discount is 40% off retail ($419.99 normally). Which, in my opinion, brings this switch panel within the realm of possibility.

SO the price for the complete kit would be $251.99 + shipping to your door.

THe GB price is automatically applied on the WiredHDH store website when over 5 units are in the cart. This means (and I have already confirmed this) that all the units need to be shipped to one person (for a flat $15-$20 fee), and that person will have to then turn around and ship all the units to the GB participants.

Notice I am saying "that person" instead of "me". Due to being very busy and bouncing around to different addresses this summer (summer classes, internships, home, etc.), not to mention probably not being allowed to charge the large amount to a student credit card for the group purchase, I will be unable to organize this. But if someone want's to step up and organize this, we would all get a killer deal.

So as this stands now this is a group buy in the early stages. But I felt like I had to let everyone know here about this deal and maybe we can figure something out.

IF we can, I'd be in:

So many views and no takers. I wish I needed this now. This is a GREAT deal.
It's possible that people are turned off by the unit because of the poor labeling. It would be very difficult to see any of the switches at night. I think I read that this is not backlit at all?

You are correct, the switch panel is not backlit. This is however a killer price for this unit!

Yeah, there's no backlighting on the description area, which is a bummer. The tiny buttons would make it more difficult to turn on by "braille" than say a row of Carling switches. It does come with 600 different icons to use though.

Definitely a great deal for the flexibility you get. Unfortunately, I don't plan on adding 8 circuits to my truck anytime soon.

Might want to advertise the GB over on the Taco and FJ forums as well. Definitely a killer deal, but I just don't have use for it in the near term.

Looks cool! And it's a great GB

But... I only plan on adding one ore two lights... and I like the zombie switches

Thanks for the GB tho!

Alright I just ordered some OTRATTW switches, so it looks like this is a no go! At least the info is out now, just in case anyone wants to pick this up again in the future it is definitely possible.

I'm going to bring this back from the dead to see if any other interest has come up.

I think I wanna try the sun visor mount. If not, I'll just go with the little cubby door in the dash. After doing some measurements, I also think the a pillar might be an option. Since the labels can be placed vertically, this might be kinda neat.

I may still be in for one, I always am in need of switches for something or another. Even though I got OTRATTW switches I would still check this out.

(raising hands to the sky) DAMN YOU T4R!!!

I just pulled the trigger on one of these babies. I told Patrick what I wanted to accomplish and told him where I was from (High Tech). He said he'd send me a unit at a really, really, really, good rate (can't disclose) . He doesn't have a dealer in VA, so I guess we'll be the first. If all goes well, I'll give feedback and where I decide to mount the controller and switch panel.

Damn it! I guess we're rewiring all those dash switches! I have a new dash kit I'll sell you for cheap. :)

I'm/we're keeping those. I want those switches to be there for accessibility. I plan (or plan on having you) wire these up so that they control less "needy" things. Such as the on board air, side lights, strobes...etc. The switches on the dash will still be for roof lights, reverse lights, train horn...etc. We'll see what you come up with.:hello:
