Wiring harness terminal

Hi, I need to pop a wire out of this wiring harness due to some bad soldering. Trying to get the wire to release but struggling with small screwdriver. Does anyone know the proper technique?

There are special tools remove them but if you have a back probe it should fit in there or a paper clip

Thanks Ralphman. So if I'm looking at the top terminal in my first pic, do I insert in the middle to try and free the clip?

Should be down the skinny slit, push on the back of the wire while inserting the toolthen pull on the wire after you get the prong depressed

This may work i have never tried it, my only concern with a dental pick or tooth pick would be it would get too wide before it would depress the prong and if it did would the thin tip be enough to push the prong over enough to release the terminal. Im not as familiar with this kind of connector as i am with wearher packs and deutsch connectors which i have used plastic tools to remove terminals from weater packs, i just not sure if a dental pick will fit to release the prong. But if it does work please let me know because i always love to learn a new way to do things even if its not the normal method always good to have a knowledge of your options especially if your in a bind. Cant learn if your not willing to learn.

Just keep in mind that the prong you're releasing it not as wide as the metal piece in the terminal, usually the prong is only 1/16" to 1/8" wide depending on how wide the terminal is and it's usually in the center, so if you're not successful on your first attemps try again, and as mentioned it's important to push the connector forward to relieve the tension the prong has on the plastic so the prong can be push down, also sometime the prong gets bent down when taking it apart so it will not catch when you put it back in the plastic housing so you may need to bend it back up before re-assembly.

Appreciate the suggestions. Have been at it a couple of hours. Closer but no luck yet. Could use a nice set of prongs like Ralphman has.

this will show you kinda whats going on, this is actually a different style connector. if a paper clip isn't working you could try a small cotter pin

that sounds about right, there isnt much play. Hopefully when you used the screw driver it didnt jack anything up, out of curiosity have you tried to remove any of the other terminals? Looks like the connector is jacked up where your broken wire is.

It does look jacked up. I tried a couple of others to try and figure this out but striking out there too. It seems like it should be straightforward..
