Wits End Fire Extinguisher Bracket // Pre-Order

Bumping this because it looks like an excellent product (purchased & waiting) and enjoying our trucks safely is the the highest importance.

LawnDart, how did you install without having to trim your weathertech mats? Assuming based on the pic in the first post.

Trimming is required but it depends on the actual type of quick release mount you pick.

my neighbor has one of these, after i saw his.....i had to order one too....

it is a well made piece of kit

Yes. The quality of your actual mount will determine safety. I've done some very hard braking since installing mine and they've never budged. I'd be far more concerned with iphones and whatnot hitting you then the fire extinguisher which is much more secured.

I believe 12ga steel, and powder coat finish.

And yes that mount can work, worst case you can drill two new holes. I will personally be using the TEK208 QD mounts on mine.

Hey LawnDart, just ordered a Wits End bracket. Thanks for your efforts there and looking forward to getting it installed!

Question though - Did you use the TEK208 mounts and recommend those? They look awesome, but pricey, so wanted to get your feedback. Any rattles/issues when pairing with the H3R Performance HG250B Fire Extinguisher?

That's what I use. The only downside, besides price, is the TEK208 mounts require some hand filing as they're such a tight fit that they can require a really strong hit to break free. There's a couple contact surfaces that can be sanded and honed so that everything separates smoothly when needed.

pull to eject!!!!!!!!!

Mount is solid, I didn't have to trim my weathertechs w/ the quick release.

However, the quick release rattles (not a wits end product), not sure if it rattles enough to bother me just yet. I tried to make a shim out of duck tape but I failed miserably.

I'm keeping the quick release mainly because I don't want the fire extinguisher to dismount by itself and roll around near my brake and accelerator pedal, but its still allows fast deployment of the fire extinguiser.

Overall, I'm happy.

thanks Lawndart for making this happen, and my neighbor for showing me it in person.

So, how far forward can you have the seat with one of these? Does it mainly depend on the model of fire extinguisher?

No. The model has no affect on forward travel. If you’re under 5’ it may be too limiting for you. If you’re that short you may also want to invest in a booster seat too. Lol.
