No disagreement there. I'm sure Josh is tired of all the drama. But it needs to be known that Gobi has him by the balls. And it is messed up that they are trying to cover their tracks.

I'm all for not beating the dead horse anymore. Nor am I generally one for conspiracy theories. But don't delete the original thread! It was deleted once and it was brought back. There should be a record of what took place. Yes, some people got out of hand, but we already dealt with that issue.
I would even go as far as to argue that even if Josh actually wanted the original thread removed, not Gobi forcing him to request it as part of their settlement, its not their right to decide. There is overwhelming requests from other members to keep it. Myself included.
Gobi insists on continuing to try to cover it up don't they realize the more you try to cover something up like this the more people are going to fight it?

It's so sad how common sense is so uncommon these days. To say that WMW came to an agreement is poppycock, it was a surrender. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, psychologist, or really anything above a GED to see everything was forced and Josh has absolutely no ability to speak his mind without further reprocussions from his "agreement." If you look at everything individually then sure it would be easy to dismiss certain actions and circumstances. But if you step back and look at the totality of the situation you will see it for what it really is. The rediculous patent allowing them to have a monopoly on a product idea, their past history of frivilous lawsuits, their bully actions of serving the lawsuit and then creation of an account on here only to lie about their lawsuit calling it a complaint and lies that they tried to contact Josh before they officially served him with the "complaint," the employee pretending to be a random disintersted 3rd party talking about how awesome Gobi is, the requests to have their true-colors-shown thread deleted, that Josh was very concerned about the suit and wanting to fight this clear injustice, then the obviously canned & scripted responses he made, that completely rediculous Yahoo article written like Gobi got some tips from Kim Jong Il on how to make yourself look better by talking about how great you are, et cetera et cetera. Like, I really thought it was that obvious but maybe I'm just the next Sherlock Holmes.

If someone speaks out against your expression on the topic please contact a mod and do not rebuttal! Please keep in mind that we do not know all the details with the agreement and that Josh, as much as he probably loves that everyone being on his side, would love to put this behind him and begin R&D for his next products for us.

I've been telling everyone I know regardless of vehicle make. All have said they have continued to pass it on through off road clubs etc and have removed Gobi as a potential buy. I think the FJ forum should be made aware too. Especially as they are suing Baja Racks over their FJ cruiser ladder. Anyone already a member there? ID2000 could get away with suing Sears and Home Depot over cell phone cases, but in this instance they have picked on someone who is part of a tight knit community and that crap just doesn't fly. Wrong group to mess with Gobi!

They are also suing BAJA Rack over their Wrangler roof rack.

Can I make a suggestion of compromise here guys?
I think we shouldn't involve/drag Josh/WMW into these conversations as the sole source of evidence. The case has been resolved and whatever the terms are, we'd more than likely be putting pressure on WMW/Josh by constantly holding him up as our martyr.
IF everyone wants to continue to point out the egregious issues in ethics, business practices, and morality that GOBI/ID2 have and continue to exhibit; we should do so from an objective point of providing evidence alongside the most recent case as to show more of continuous pattern of behaviour. Rather than setting up all these threads to seem as almost retaliatory to WMW/Josh's case.
I'm all for pointing out and exposing the poor practices of a company (it's been done many times over the years with various companies on this forum and many have improved as a result of it it seems.) But we shouldn't be dragging someone into the fight who may not want to be in it.

Fair enough, Im speculating...apparently its not as clear to some as others what Gobi is doing and how that has affected Josh. What I have said may not be fact, but it may be. It doesn't seem to take a degree to notice that he has copied and pasted the exact same phrase from the PR's article, seems logical at least from my stand point that if he was concerned with this discussion he might speak in a way that he always has, not in some other voice.
And to say he hasn't been harmed in this is just ignorant. <---- I used the words beaten, but all the same.
But Im good with not bringing Josh up again, Im not good with Gobi (seemingly) having information deleted to cover up all their self defacing, so that others know what they are getting into. Im not good with Gobi's name being searched in Google to not have past conversations brought up. So yea, maybe I too just won't quit...thats cool, Id rather be wrong about Josh being putout by this conversation than assume that all is good and just ignore Gobi's action and the deletion of very informative information.
But if my assumption of his position is wrong I apologize.
